Hookhills is a cheerful four-bedroom holiday home located within a quiet residential area nearby to the coast. This is a fabulous home-away-from-home for families or groups of friends, with Paignton’s Broadsands and Goodrington beaches less than a mile away.
As you head inside, you will be welcomed into the entrance hall which leads into the cosy living room which is comfortably furnished with plenty of seating, an electric fireplace and a Freeview TV. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed to prepare a homecooked meal and there is also a separate dining room which provides the perfect space for everybody to gather around to eat after a busy day exploring Devon. Head upstairs to discover the four attractive double bedrooms and the family shower room which is fitted with a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, toilet and sink. The beautiful fully enclosed garden offers plenty of space to relax in the sunshine with a lawn and outdoor seating area.
Paignton has long been a popular destination for holidaying families, and it’s easy to see why. Indulge in some classic seaside fun, stroll the beaches with an ice cream in hand, visit the spectacular Paignton Zoo or take the Dartmouth Steam Railway from Paignton to Kingswear for a lovely journey back in time. Neighbouring Torquay is home to a huge range of entertainment, from fine dining to theatre, cinema and shows for all the family; there really is something for everyone. Brixham (3 miles) is the epicentre of south Devon’s fishing industry, with fresh catch landed daily. Beautiful Dartmouth (5½ miles) is a historic naval town nestled in a steep-sided valley. Lovely base for a holiday, in a clean, well equipped and welcoming accommodation. You're in the middle of lots of things to see and do with a bus service at the bottom of the hill linking to Torquay and Brixham if you didn't feel like driving. There is also many nice places to eat and drink with friendly welcoming staff, Cantina is definitely worth a visit. There is a co-op, bakery and pharmacy just a couple of minutes stroll. It is worth noting the accommodation is at the top of a hill so if you walk to the local amenities at Goodrington it's great on the way down but you definitely work your dinner off on the way back up, but we did it several times we would definitely stay again.

The garden was a mes, with furniture dirty, unusable and untidy. Bathroom sink was blocked. We had to use drain unblocker to use it properly. The kitchen hob would light intermittently. The light would go out, but gas still coming through. Light only had 3 bulbs working out of six. Dining room main light had no bulb in. Glas panelled lounge door was cracked in 3 places. Held together with cello tape. Hall carpet very stained. Not enough plug sockets anywhere. We would recommend the owner inspects this house more frequently

The house was clean and comfortable, and a short, easy drive to many lovely beaches and towns. The price reflects the great location. There is parking for 2 guest cars on the drive as the blue car in the photos is there permanently. Additional parking on the road was very limited due to double yellow lines and other residents cars. Tony was a great host. We enjoyed our visit and would stay again.
