The Cottage at Goodrington Lodge boasts a fantastic location just a short walk from the beach, with beautiful views and a lovely pool that guests thoroughly enjoyed. The property is spacious and comfortable, especially the beds, and offers good amenities for families. However, several guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, such as a dirty balcony and some tired interiors. Parking can be tight, and there is no welcome pack, but the helpfulness of the local contact was appreciated. Overall, guests had enjoyable stays, particularly due to the excellent setting and pool.
Multiple reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including dirty floors, stained bedding, unclean balcony, and the need for guests to clean upon arrival. While some found the cottage generally clean, the majority highlighted significant concerns.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, beautiful views, and access to local amenities. Some mention narrow roads and steep hills, but overall, guests found the setting excellent.
Guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage spacious, but some noted musty smells, a cold arrival, and the upstairs bedroom getting very hot. The lounge may be a bit small for larger groups.
The pool is a standout feature and much enjoyed. However, guests noted a lack of kitchen equipment, maintenance issues (e.g., leaking shower, broken hoover), and some tired interiors. Parking is tight but manageable.
No welcome pack or gifts were provided, and several guests mentioned the lack of information on arrival. The local contact was helpful, but the absence of thoughtful touches was noted.

Location is great for access to Goodrington Beach and has some great places nearby and there is a dedicated car parking space. The only reason it's not excellent is it has some narrow roads and has some steep hills. Cleanliness I've said was bad as when we arrived the place hadn't been cleaned. When we got in touch with cottages.com they tried to contact the owner but they didnt answer so they gave us a contact number which we rang and they got back to us and got a cleaner out to the place. For a quick job it was good however some of the towels they brought had some stains. The carpet had some stains and the upstairs ensuite shower had a leak that looked to have been repaired but started again and damaged a pack of cards we brought with us. Comfort and equipment was average, the usual amenities were in the house however there was no welcome pack and there was only 1 key which for 3 adults was a slight hinderance. The upstairs bedroom gets very hot and a fan would have helped greatly.Local amenities are good, a decent restaurant and a local shop within walking distance.Price wasnt bad but the start to the holiday wasnt great and has put a downer on the experience.

The cottage was filthy on arrival. Had to buy kitchen cleaner and anti bacterial wipes from supermarket to deep clean the fridge and microwave. Floors are filthy had to shake rugs outside. Hoover not picking up due to poorly sellotaped hose, needs replacing. Bathrooms had to be cleaned. Removed black mould from shower head. Bedding needs replacing sweat stained. Balcony needs sweeping and tidying all the dirt treads straight into the living room. No guest information so you need to know that the heating is controlled by the white Glow Worm remote control in the living room not the thermostat on the landing. The code for the pool gate is written on the fire sign by the front door. The parking space is the 1st on the right that says ‘cot’ in white paint. Blind needs putting up at patio doors. Also no way to secure patio doors when not in the property. Such a shame it’s a wonderful location and fantastic views but it requires repainting in the rooms, better curtains in the top floor bedroom and definitely a new cleaner immediately.

Fantastic location, pool is great and we were in there every day. 5 min walk to dog friendly beach, and enough local pubs and eateries to keep you entertained. Parking is tight on site and if you bring more than one car, it’s a bit of a struggle to get the second car parked on the road. Inside the accommodation was comfortable, especially the beds. The interior is a little tired and could do with a bit of TLC and the balcony was quite dirty, which meant that we were always walking dirt into the living area. There could do with being a bit more equipment provided in the kitchen (for example, there weren’t enough drinking glasses for five people). There was also no welcome pack, so we weren’t sure on how to operate certain things or how to get into the pool, but Hannah was really helpful on the phone number provided.Overall, we had a really good time, especially due to the weather in the week we were there.
