About this property

Perched in the popular coastal town of Torquay, Devon, is this stunning Grade II listed Georgian villa, Mount Braddon. Once owned by the former Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, and enjoying a fantastic location just moments away from the beach and local amenities, Mount Braddon is a superb choice for those seeking a unique escape in Devon. The property benefits from five off-road parking spaces, an EV charging point, and extensive grounds and gardens, which feature furniture and a barbecue, perfect for alfresco dining. Enter into the grand entrance hall, with feature fireplace, tall windows and a sweeping staircase, and continue through to the spacious and fully-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can look forward to conjuring up your best dishes, ready to savour at the breakfast table for six, or enjoy a more formal affair in the dining room which can seat 12.

After dinner, you have the choice of three different relaxation spaces, an inviting sitting room with plush seating and a TV, a conservatory to relax in, board games and DVDs available, or the home gym/cinema. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility and cloakroom. Follow the staircase up to the first floor, where you’ll find three beautifully appointed bedrooms, a master double with walk-in dressing room, TV and en-suite bathroom, and two further doubles, one with TV, and en-suite shower rooms. There is also an additional utility and a study on this floor. Continue onto Paignton, where you can spend a fun-filled day with loved ones at the Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, enjoy family-friendly entertainment along the bustling Paignton Pier, hook your catch of the day along Goodrington Pier, or enjoy beachcombe the golden sands of Paignton Beach.

Further afield, you can enjoy the delights of Dartmouth, home to the Dartmouth Museum, Dartmouth Castle, Rockfish, Bayard’s Cove Fort, and within easy reach of the Blue Flag Beach of Blackpool Sands. Treat your loved ones to a holiday they’ll never forget at Mount Braddon.

Torquay, a prominent seaside town in South Devon, has been drawing tourists for over two centuries due to its sandy beaches, piers, palm palms, and plenty of attractions. Couples and families alike will find Torquay's plethora of seaside walks, restaurants, and nightlife, as well as its year-round roster of indoor and outdoor activities, to be irresistible. Cockington is home to the ancient Cockington Court and a craft centre with glassblowing, and visitors can take a boat over to Brixham or Paignton to see a plethora of marine life. The Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boats, the River Dart, and the English Riviera (a unesco Global Geopark) are all within easy driving distance. The house was great , very spacious and with a large garden. All beds were comfortable, fantastic Wi-Fi and excellent welcome pack on arrival.

Well equipped & comfortable. A perfect place for a large family gathering/ reunion. Thanks to the owner.

  • Valerie

The house is beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable. Set in a quiet residential road the house is well positioned for access to the town and its facilities, with harbour, beaches and green spaces nearby. One thing to bear in mind is that the very steep hills are restrictive for the less fit visitors. Also access to the garden would benefit from some handrails on the steps.
