Guests say

Avebury Cottage is cherished by many for its character, antique furnishings, and idyllic location, perfect for exploring the local area. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, lovely garden, and the cottage's historical charm, though some find the kitchen and space challenging for larger groups. The property's quirkiness and peaceful setting are frequently praised.

Most reviews do not mention cleanliness issues, suggesting satisfactory conditions. However, one review noted the need to wash crockery and cutlery before use, indicating some room for improvement in this area.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, views, and proximity to local attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring Avebury and the surrounding landscape.

The cottage's comfort is well-regarded, with mentions of cozy furnishings and comfortable beds. The historical nature of the cottage adds to its charm, though the low ceilings and steep staircases may pose challenges for some.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the garden and WIFI. However, the kitchen's size and layout can be restrictive, and there are comments about the TV's intermittent operation and the property feeling a bit tired.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

This was our 6th year staying in beautiful Avebury in the wonderfully olde worlde churchyard cottages. We have no complaints as always! The cottage is full of character and sympathetically furnished with lovely antiques. It has everything you need and is in the perfect location to explore Avebury and the ancient and magickal Wiltshire landscape. We are still finding new things to do each year. Our highlights this year were the witch trees in Grovely Woods near Salisbury, and Littlecote Roman Villa.Next year we have booked July, which will be our first summer in the cottage as we usually book for October. We are looking forward to seeing a different season in Avebury and surrounding areas, and making use of the lovely garden too.Thank you to the lovely housekeeper and family for a wonderful stay again.

Third time stopping here and feels like coming home when I walk in, I've already booked for next year. The cottage is in a perfect place to discover Avebury and the surrounding area. The cottage itself is real higgledy piggledy which gives it some real character, it is a very old house (well two actually) and as such there are different levels to some floors and ceilings with some low beams. It is well equipped and has great WIFI which is important for me, the beds are all comfortable a great garden that catches the afternoon sun and even a great neighbor. The ability to off load close to the cottage and then park for free in the NT employees carpark is ideal. Overall we (my wife and I) love coming to this cottage and to Avebury as whole, we are looking forward to being here in early summer next year.

A wonderfully quirky old cottage - we loved it! Of course you have to take into account the age and history of the cottage, it’s not new or modern! But we had everything we needed and were lovely and cozy. We’re just planning to rebook next year. 😍
