Set in the grounds of the beautiful Netheravon House, built in the 18th century for the Duke of Beaufort, The Stables overlook the square Dovecote, listed by English Heritage. The River Avon runs along the estate boundary. This gorgeous 3-bedroom conversion has been finished to a high standard, enjoying airy rooms downstairs, and bedrooms built into the roof upstairs.

On the ground floor is a wonderful large kitchen/dining room with a stunning island, range cooker with 5-ring gas hob and electric ovens, dishwasher and everything you could need for your break away. The cosy living room has a gas wood burner, perfect for chilly evenings, a Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, as well as comfortable furnishings to relax and snuggle up with a book or play games around the coffee table.

Upstairs, all the rooms are full of character with exposed beams and views over the estate grounds. There is a large master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom and a third bedroom with a good double sofa bed. There is a family bathroom on this floor. Outside there is a private gravel garden behind a curved bed of lavender, with table and chairs, perfect for sitting out and enjoying the sunshine.

Netheravon, an ancient settlement on Salisbury Plain, is right on the doorstep. The church is mentioned in the Domesday book, there is a great local pub at the bottom of the drive, and a useful shop within walking distance. Amesbury is 10 minutes’ drive with Devizes, Marlborough and the city of Salisbury, with its magnificent cathedral, all less than 30 minutes from the house. Prehistoric Stonehenge is just 8 miles away by car, and truly a must-see. The connected sites of Woodhenge and Durrington Walls are closer and free to visit. For a fun day out, why not head over to Longleat with its drive-through safari, and watch the monkeys at play? Lake fishing is available at nearby Durrington, 3½ miles, and river fishing at Manningford, 7½ miles. There are also two golf courses within 7½ miles. Shop 700 yards, pub/restaurant 350 yards.
