About this property

Foxhole Cottage is a beautifully refurbished cottage with a large spacious garden, set in the idyllic, rural location of Framsden, Framlingham. Sleeping up to eight adults and four children, it is a perfect option for families and friends looking to get together and enjoy what the area has to offer. This stunning cottage has generous, airy rooms ensuring all is on hand for entertaining and celebrating.

The tranquil location means that birdsong fills the house in the spring and summer months. In the Winter, enjoy a walk around Framlingham Castle and return to cottage to cook a home-cooked roast, light the wood-burning stove and settle in for the evening.

The ground floor comprises two comfortable sitting rooms with enough space to accommodate all guests; both have bi-fold doors leading directly into the surrounding gardens. The open kitchen/dining/sitting room is well-equipped with everything one could need to prepare meals and enjoy them around the large dining table. Further double bi-fold doors lead directly onto the garden patio surrounded by trees and herbaceous borders. An outdoor table and chairs rest beneath a rose-laden pergola; perfect for enjoying a star gazing evening or alfresco dinner. The snug/office room with sofa and desk offers an opportunity for quietude, study or work; storage here has been cleverly transformed into a cellar to ensure there's enough cool provisions for celebrations. The boot /utility room and family shower room complete the ground floor.

The first-floor accommodation is unique in that one end of the property (accessed via the snug/office) comprises a double bedroom and bunk room. While, to the opposite end, via the main entrance hallway, there is a dedicated children's playroom, leading to a bunk bed room and an en-suite children's bathroom, making this a particularly memorable stay for little ones. There is also a super-king bedroom and two further double bedrooms (one with en-suite bathroom). This setting means Foxhole Cottage is perfect for families/friends to sleep independently at either end of the house.

Stepping outside there is a large lawn garden with wildflower borders, plenty of well-established and younger trees. The patio is laden with roses and the house itself is surrounded by numerous flower beds and well-established borders, vines and wisteria. Vast lawns with a see-saw and two fenced off areas mean there is ample space to explore, rest, play and enjoy.

This property is also available for smaller groups; as a sleeps 6, sleeps 8 or sleeps 10 option.

Additional Information:

Two well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Please note dogs are only permitted in the kitchen/ dining room and utility room.

Electric vehicle charging point by the boot/utility room (small additional charge).

The ponds are not fenced off, so please ensure children are supervised at all times.

We had a great time at Foxhole. We were a family group of seven adults and three children including a toddler. The accommodation layout was perfect for us. The number of toys and games for the kids was phenomenal and the ride on tractor was loved by the older kids.

We booked this cottage over Christmas to celebrate a special birthday with the family. Our group consisted of 7 adults and 5 children. The cottage was lovely and spacious with 2 large reception rooms and open plan kitchen/ dining room. It was warm and comfortable with gorgeous views and countryside walks locally. The kitchen was well equipped, just lacking a few basics such as covered dishes suitable for the oven. Also there were not enough chairs for us all to sit round the table. The utility room was large and ideal for muddy boots and coats. The bedrooms were comfortable although the master bedroom had no shaver point or mirror to use when drying your hair. One of the blinds in the main lounge was faulty and could not be let down. In several of the bedrooms and the bathroom on the ground floor there were loads of dead ladybirds and flies in the folds of the roller blinds.Having said all that we had a lovely stay at Foxhole Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our time away and would recommend this property.Suffolk Hideaway were good at answering any questions and were very helpful in allowing us into the cottage early.

Foxhole was a delightful place to stay. The rooms were a good size and there was the open plan kitchen diner to gather together the family and two lounges to have time away. The outside areas were lovely and it was only the weather that let us down so we couldnt spend more time in the grounds with the lovely little touches offered to give the kids a great time. The kids particularly loved the playroom next to their bedroom. Again all we would change was the weather :)
