Settled in the quaint seaside town of Aldeburgh, Suffolk, Button Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the coast and countryside. Enter into a quaint sitting room where a woodburning stove will make you feel right at home as you recline in the grey sofas with a book in hand. When mealtimes call, make your way into the kitchen/diner and use the ample amenities available to cook up a storm, serving at the dining table, or there is the option of alfresco dining in the courtyard where a delightful space creates a pocket of sunshine perfect for a barbecue. As the evening wears on, enjoy a soak amongst the bubbles in the family bathroom before settling down for the night in one of the two bedrooms, a king-size with storage and ornamental fireplace and a twin with storage, perfect for two children.
Aldeburgh is a thriving seaside town where there are so many things on offer to guests, beginning with a selection of craft and food shops selling local produce, along with plenty of places to enjoy a family meal together, including Cross Keys, The Lighthouse, and Two Magpies Bakery. After enjoying a heart-warming meal, head over to the local museum to learn more about the town, then spend the afternoon on the beach, either enjoying a refreshing walk with your four-legged friend, or why not try out water sports or wild swimming? More scenic walks can be had if you follow the Snape path or visit Haven Nature Reserve.
A short distance from the village you can find another great beach, plus wildlife walks and eateries, at Thorpeness or head over to Orford to explore the fantastic ruins of Orford Castle. Explore the wonders of the Suffolk coast with a stay at Button Cottage.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

The bedside light in the twin room did not work, it looked like the cable to the on/off switch was so twisted that the wire inside was broken. Otherwise OK.

Things like a dryer or heated clothes airer. As a family of four, with wet clothes from swimming or the inclement weather, this would have been so handy. We also picked up on things like the sofa and carpets looked like theyâre due a deep clean. Spare or extra covers would be great too. Some foil or baking paper wouldâve been fab too. We will however definitely book and stay again.

The property was lovely and clean and we appreciated the welcome wine and biscuits. Happy to report no issue with wi-fi as previous customers had reported. Only small niggles: the overbath shower was pretty cramped from my husband (he is 5ft 11), anyone much taller might find this a significant drawback. The garden furniture was adequate but quite tired. The quality of crockery, cutlery and in particular sharp knives would benefit from an upgrade. Would definitely consider using this cottage again, but if I did I would take my own sharp knives for cooking!
