Guests say

Seashells in Aldeburgh is a well-regarded holiday home, praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and prime location close to the beach and town. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable setting, though some noted minor issues with maintenance and facilities. The property's charm and the owners' responsiveness to issues are highlighted, making it a favoured choice for return visits.

Most guests found Seashells to be spotlessly clean, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, one review mentioned dirty floors and kitchenware upon arrival, which suggests occasional lapses in cleaning standards.

The property's location is highly praised for being a short walk from the beach and Aldeburgh town, making it an ideal spot for holidaymakers looking to enjoy the seaside and local amenities.

Guests find the house warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for larger groups. Some guests suggested improvements in bed quality for an even more comfortable experience.

The property is generally well-equipped, but some guests reported tired appliances, a small oven that's challenging for cooking large meals, and issues with the dishwasher and fridges. Maintenance responsiveness is good, but there's room for improvement in facilities.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate the owners' thoughtfulness in the reviews provided. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category.

About this property

With stunning architecture and close to the town centre and beaches of Aldeburgh, Suffolk, Seashells will make the perfect holiday home for a family or group of adults. Park off-road and marvel at the beautiful exterior of this property, before finding your way into one of the two sitting rooms, one separate and housing a gas fire to warm your feet and the other part of the open-plan living area, where you can recline with a glass of wine and plan the day ahead of you. The living pace is truly stunning, with plenty of seating, a dining table and granite work surfaces in a kitchen outfitted with every amenity needed to cook up a storm. Five bedrooms offer a place to cosy down for the night, each with fresh and stylish décor to match the rest of the property and each with storage, beginning with a king-size with splashes of purple, a TV and an en-suite, a twin and a single both close to the family bathroom where you can enjoy a soak amongst the bubbles or a relaxing shower, and there are two more bedrooms on the second floor, a king-size with an en-suite and another single, leaving you spoilt for choice. The garden is delightful, with seating allowing guests to read outside with a cup of tea and enjoy the sound of the birds, or have your evening meal in the sunshine, whilst your four-legged friend rests beside you. The local area of Aldeburgh is one with many attractions to explore, beginning with local independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés selling home made goods, and of course there is a fantastic pebble beach just a short walk from the property where you can enjoy a family picnic, a swim or your favourite watersports, and your pet is sure to love the stretches of coastline too! Countryside and coastline walks are available at the Snape path and Haven Nature Reserve, where you may be lucky enough to spot some wildlife, and there is a local museum and cinema where you can explore the history of Aldeburgh and then catch up on the latest blockbuster. There is something for everyone with a stay at the fantastic Seashells.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

Very comfortable stay which could be improved with better quality beds. Otherwise a great house in a great location.

  • Charlotte

The house is immaculate and we were very impressed overall. We will definitely be returning!

  • Elaine

The 5 bedrooms precisely meet our needs. The house is warm and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. One minor point, we spent more time on this visit sat on the sofas in the kitchen/living room. A coffee table here would have been useful so that we didn't put mugs on the floor. Thanks
