Nearby is the famous town of Southwold, the home of Adnams Brewery where you can have a tasting and purchase items from their shop. A traditional pier and an array of independent shops and restaurants, from here you can pop on the foot ferry over to Walberswick, famous for its crabbing. Aldeburgh has the famous shell sculpture on the beach and a very popular fish and chip shop. If you can drag the children away from the beach then pay a visit to Africa Alive in Kessingland, here you will see hundreds of animals, Pleasurewood Hills at Lowestoft is a great way to spend a day, with rides for all ages. Being close to the Norfolk Broads you can take a day boat out and take a peaceful glide along the Broads.
