This spacious holiday home is a great option for friends and families travelling together for a break on the Suffolk coast. Boasting an array of social spaces inside including the sitting room and snug, as well as outside in the garden, there’s something sure to appeal to all guests on a stay here. Take a day trip to Dunwich and you’ll get the chance to explore the beach, heaths and forest which are all within a few miles of each other and offer a patchwork of interesting pathways to walk with plenty of idyllic spots to stop off and tuck into a picnic.
Gather together in the sitting room and sprawl out on one of the two sumptuous sofas to watch a film. At the centre of the room is a beautiful, exposed brick fireplace housing an open fire which creates a warm and welcoming ambience during the colder months of the year. Step into the open-plan kitchen/diner and you’ll find a long table seating eight guests, as well as a kitchen filled with everything you’ll need to create a family feast, including a breakfast bar with seating for three. The playroom is a great space for children, with a TV, toys, a sofa and plenty of floor space. Upstairs on the first floor, you’ll find the four bedrooms, including the master bedroom featuring a king-size bed with pastel decor throughout mimicking the beautiful colour palette of the sea. In addition, there is a zip-and-link king-size bed in a separate room which can be made up as a twin upon request, as well as two charming single bedrooms which are ideal for younger guests. The family bathroom completes the property with a blissful bathtub offering ultimate relaxation at the end of the day. Outside, the garden is enclosed with a lovely, large lawn featuring a table and chairs for al fresco dining.
Walberswick itself has plenty on offer, from tea rooms serving up tasty treats to gorgeous Georgian architecture seen on walks around this hidden gem of a village and, of course, it’s got its very own beach! During the summer months, you can take the foot ferry across the waters to the iconic seaside destination of Southwold (2 miles) where colourful beach huts line the shore. The lighthouse here leads you on your way to a fantastic coast path walking trail as well as offering you the opportunity to try your hand at crabbing. During the winter, it is an easy drive of 8 miles to see Southwold’s picturesque pier and waterside attractions.
