Park off road and make yourself at home in this large detached property, firstly finding the sitting room where orange décor complements a contemporary interior and the glow from the woodburning stove welcomes you to relax, or for a peaceful moment there is the option of the study. The kitchen/diner is simply stunning, with all of the home-from-home amenities available to guests, marble work surfaces adding a sense of opulence and plenty of space for cooking together, and the bi-fold doors opening up onto the wonderful garden, giving the option of alfresco dining or using the dining table. Six bedrooms leave guests spoilt for choice, including a king-size with en-suite with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC, a second king-size, a double, a single, a second-floor single and a second-floor king-size, each with their own character and within easy reach of a bathroom or shower room. Walberswick is a coastal village where you can find a great selection of pubs, cafes and independent stores, allowing for a warm meal between exploring the fantastic beach and coastal walks. Head over to the neighbouring town of Southwold for more independent shops and beach walks, and you can also visit the well-known pier and historic lighthouse. Head inland to Halesworth for a day in the countryside and local wildlife. Enjoy the seaside of Suffolk with a stay at Lavvande.

A delightful coastal village set at the mouth of the River Blyth in the Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve. This place is perfect for a chilled break by the sea. It offers a small range of delightful shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés to choose from. The nearest town is Southwold just a short trip over the River Blyth, it offers a good selection of amenities as well as a museum and a light house. The city of Norwich is also accessible and is well worth a visit. Walberswick is one of the few places in the UK with very little light pollution.

One comment I would make is that the property was not recently cleaned/serviced. Several dead flies on the floor in the top bedroom, dead spiders in the shower (ensuite), kitchen worktops a little bit sticky and just wiped over. I assume it was cleaned some weeks before and had not been used or refreshed before my stay. Some parts are looking tired now (main bathroom in particular). For the price point this needs to be upgraded.

The house is so beautiful and decorated fantastically. We had a wonderful time in Walberwick. Everything we needed was available but for it to be perfect few things could be added to make it more user friendly for the amount of people the property can hold, such as only having a two slice toaster, it made breakfast for 7 people quite a tricky task!

We had a couple of issues - the main one being with the EV charging point which needs a PIN number to release the cable. Couldn’t find this anywhere and spent a lot of time contacting Sykes who managed to get it for us. The mirror in the en-suite looks rather unsafe and there is also a broken floorboard outside one of the 1st floor bedrooms. Just a couple of maintenance issues but did not deter from the house being perfect for our stay.
