Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. Great choice and I’m sure we will be back.

Perfect for families. The two lounges were brilliant for separating the football fans watching tv from the more cerebral / sedentary crew.

Ideally situated too, generally speaking we had no trouble parking close by with 3 cars. Nice touch got a call because there was no one in the property the night before us was ready for us to go in before heck in time. If I had a minor quibble, holiday properties tend to have a supply of 2nd hand books, puzzles or games (which were mentioned), luckily we bought our own supply. Also perhaps for people not used to the area maybe some tourist type leaflets (note no longer a Tourist Information centre in town). But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (6 adults) and would defintely rebook (this our 2nd visit to Elkhorn).
