Situated in the beautiful village of Alvechurch that lies in the valley of the River Arrow, Fenn House is the perfect location for guests wishing to really explore the local area. This detached holiday property is perfect for families with plenty to see and do within a short driving distance. The centre of Alvechurch itself is within walking distance of Fenn House and guests will discover plenty of excellent places to eat including pubs, restaurants and cafes. There is also a marina and plenty of opportunity to take a boat trip along the river. Only 10 miles away from the cathedral city of Worcester, 11 miles from Birmingham, 5 miles from Redditch and 6 miles from Bromsgrove, guests will be able to really explore the heart of England offering the opportunity to visit many local attractions including Cadbury World, the Bullring and the NEC. A little further afield but still within easy driving distance, guests will find themselves in the heart of Shakespeare Country and the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Ideal for families and groups of friends who are interested in the history of William Shakespeare, there are many attractions to visit including Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, which is situated on the banks of the River Avon. Also only a 25-minute drive away from Bewdley, guests will enjoy the opportunity to visit the West Midlands Safari Park, Ironbridge and the Severn Valley Steam Railway, which is a famous destination for railway enthusiasts. The Malvern Hills, Cotswolds and the Welsh mountains are all within an hour’s drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Overall we had a great week away at Fenn House. The property is large with a well equipped kitchen and was very clean on our arrival. The kitchen and lounge had adequate seating for the number of guests, which isn't always the case in larger properties. Bathrooms were new, exceptionally clean and water pressure in the showers were great. Parking was plentiful although the advertised 'enclosed garden' was a gravel drive with no gate. There were a few issues that suprised us given the previous glowing reviews; the beds were exceptionally uncomfortable and the mattresses clearly need replacing. The carpet is old with multiple stains thoughtout the house. Furniture in the twin (kids) room was damaged and not attached to the wall which would have been an issue for us a couple of years ago when our children were younger. In addition there were a number of velux windows above the beds with no blinds leading to very early waking, none of the bedrooms had curtains (only non-blackout blinds). The location was great and there is lots to do nearby for all ages. The owner lives nextdoor and responded rapidly to our requests.

Excellent property. Spacious, family able to spread out and relax. Comfortable with ample seating and dining areas. Most rooms had ensuite facilities or access to a spacious family bathroom. Nice location on the outskirts of Alvechurch village, quiet, but well positioned for transport links. M42 a couple of miles away giving access to M5, M6, M40. Alvechurch Railway station within walking distance. House is at the end of a short private road near the Birmingham Worcester canal. Day boats available from nearby Alvechurch marina. Henry and Annabelle were excellent hosts, and left a lovely welcome pack. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay again.
