Lakeview Yurt in Tewkesbury offers a tranquil and private retreat with stunning lake views and abundant wildlife. Guests praise the secluded setting, friendly owners, and the opportunity to engage with nature. The hot tub and sauna are popular, though some mention they could use maintenance. The rustic charm and the chance to unwind are consistently appreciated, despite comments on the need for a refresh and better cleaning.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. While some guests found the yurt clean, others noted cobwebs and dust. The floor condition was mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its beauty, seclusion, and proximity to wildlife. The private lake and the opportunity for a peaceful retreat contribute to the high rating.
Comfort is well-regarded, with guests finding the yurt cosy and the bed comfortable. However, some noted that the yurt could benefit from a spring clean and general TLC.
Facilities like the hot tub and sauna are appreciated, but several reviews mention they are outdated or in need of repair. The presence of a boat adds to the experience, but maintenance issues impact the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.
Lakeview Yurt is a bright 20-foot yurt on the outskirts of the pretty village of Beckford, on the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border, in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ideally situated on the edge of a fishing lake, boasting underfloor heating, a roll top bath, a veranda, a hot tub and a sauna, making it the perfect choice for a rural romantic getaway. Pull up and park, then linger for a moment as the stillness of the setting gently sets the tone. This single‑storey retreat sits beside the wildlife lake, offering an easy sense of seclusion without feeling isolated. Step inside and you’re greeted by a well‑balanced studio‑style space where each element has been thoughtfully placed to encourage switching off and settling in.
Start your stay by setting bags aside and easing into the flow of the space. The kitchen area suits relaxed, everyday cooking, whether you’re warming a simple supper or preparing something unhurried, before pulling up a seat at the breakfast bar to linger over food and conversation. As the day softens, drift into the sitting area and enjoy the gentle warmth underfoot while the atmosphere remains calm and uncluttered. When evening calls for slowing down further, pull down the projector screen, load up your favourite DVD, and sink into a laid‑back cinema‑style night. Later, move across to the king-size bed and wind down at your own pace as the evening draws to a close.
For deeper relaxation, the roll‑top bath provides an indulgent escape, inviting long soaks with the door closed and the outside world left firmly behind. A separate basin and WC, accessed via the yurt, keeps the main living area feeling open and uninterrupted. Outdoors, the experience continues at a slower tempo. Step onto the wooden veranda and move easily between heat and fresh air, soaking in the private hot tub, slipping into the two‑person sauna, or settling beside the chiminea with a drink as daylight fades. A nearby sun terrace with loungers offers a quiet spot for rest between dips, while the barbecue lends itself to unhurried outdoor meals.
Beyond the immediate space, there’s freedom to roam at your own pace, from gentle time spent beside the lake to taking the rowing boat out onto the water or casting a line during peaceful fishing sessions. A well‑behaved dog is welcome too, making this a shared escape shaped around calm, comfort, and the pleasure of slowing things down. Slow the pace and settle into the relaxed rhythm of Lakeview Yurt. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 6017, 903586 and 921614, together sleeping up to 8 people.

The location and environment is lovely. The yurt itself is not up to standard. The door lock is rusty/corroded, if you lock it at night expect to climb out the window to get out. The hot tub shows no signs of maintenance, the water seemed over used/murky and the filters need cleaning, no signs of chlorine in the water (is there evidence of it being maintained for holiday let use?), the sauna didnât heat up any more than 59 degrees (recommendation is about 75 degrees), so we couldnât use sauna or hot tub. kettle is rusty/corroded and a few Tupperware bowls would have been nice, as well as, instructions on how to use the convection oven and induction hob. We left after 24hrs of our stay. Too many issues!

My only concern this time is the weeds at the back of the yurt need keeping down , I photograph the wildlife and its makes it difficult to capture a decent picture. Apart from that perfect relaxing holiday. Sarah as helpful as always .
