Nestled in the idyllic Herefordshire countryside Broadleaf House is a mansion house ideally suited for groups of friends and family to enjoy a well earned break or to celebrate a special occasion and is well revered as a wedding location. With plenty to keep all of your party occupied from country walks to firing your own pizza in the clay oven, followed by a spot of pool in the games room or a movie in the cinema room - your stay will fly by and you will longing to return.

The space

The impressive house which in part dates from the 14th Century and retains many of its beautiful original features – wood panelled walls, stucco ceilings and roaring fires in nearly every room. Recently renovated, Broadleaf now boasts the style and comfort on a par with any boutique hotel, including huge showers, big comfy beds and snuggly sofas and excellent quality fixtures and fittings.

To the ground floor, there are three different sitting areas, an indulgent navy blue lounge is the place to be to relax in front of a roaring fire. The inner hall is the perfect space for aperitifs, bathed in summer sun or feeling warmed and cosy whilst looking out onto a winter’s night. For those that like some peace and quiet to catch up on their latest read there is a charming snug also ideal to watch some TV or play a game or two with the children.

Take in the delights of the wood panelled dining room with more than enough space for all your guests to dine in comfort and make celebrations a joyful memory. The breakfast room is ideal for those more informal meals or a great space to catch up on work or just to spread out the morning papers with a coffee. The luxury modern kitchen has all the mod cons you can think of and plenty of space to cook, and provides another seating area with its table and chairs so the chef is not left lonely whilst creating their master pieces. For guests with babies and young children, three highchairs, as well as children’s cutlery and crockery is provided.

Entertainment for all the party is on hand too, the library has an extensive selection of books and a pool table, perfect for those more competitive guests in addition to those who prefer a more relaxing evening. If your group consists of different age groups why not create a separate experience in the large games room above the bar, with a cinema area, table tennis table and selection of other games. The bar is included as part of your hire on a DIY basis perfect for a budding landlord or it can be stocked and staffed at an additional cost for celebratory events.

Board games, DVD's, books, children’s toys and games, as well as a bespoke treasure hunt to keep your younger guests entertained are all at hand. For those sunnier days there are garden games, including croquet, football croquet and giant Jenga. A swing for very little ones can be requested so that they too can enjoy in the fun and games.

To the first floor there are nine luxury bedrooms, all with their own individual style. Some have window seating overlooking the stunning gardens, great to gaze out on with your early morning cuppa. Two of the rooms have superking beds, six kingsize and one a double. The superkings are zip lock and can split into two full sized singles if required. Z-beds and cots can be added into many of the rooms for children or young adults. All the bedrooms are en-suite, consisting of a private bathroom or share with just one other bedroom ideal for a family with children. The six bathrooms are finished to a very high standard and enjoy large waterfall showers. One of the bathrooms has an extra large bath ideal for a long lazy soak whilst enjoying a glass of whatever take your fancy.

Cots and z-beds are provided with sheets and blankets, there is a baby bath and baby bath seat available.

To the outside there are five acres of gardens, which back onto fields to ensure total privacy. The property is linear in design therefore all the gardens are south facing and enjoy the sunshine ideal for al-fresco dining any time of day. The lengthy patio faces onto the David Austin rose garden, which flowers from March until October, a delight for all the senses. Fire pits are available so guests can plan all their outside entertainment from dawn to dusk. Boasting two huge lawns, plan a picnic with games for all the family with time to laze in the glorious surroundings. The ample kitchen garden is stocked with fruit, vegetables and flowers, some of which will be in your welcome hamper depending on seasonality. Wander further down the garden to find the summer house, a tranquil place to chill out with and catch forty winks. In addition there are a few vines and the orchard – guests are very welcome to sample the produce depending on the time of year.

The outside bar has a pizza oven, which guests can use, or caterers can be provided to do all the hard work for you.

Guest access

There are two large gravelled courtyards, one of which can be used to park, additionally a large car park is available behind an old tithe barn opposite the house.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 35% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees.

Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you're legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.

Security deposit: A security deposit of £1,000 will be charged prior to check in and returned following your stay.
