Guests praise its generous living areas, comfortable beds, and excellent location for exploring Ross-on-Wye and nearby attractions. While some mention that the décor and certain facilities could benefit from updating, and note occasional issues with cleanliness and heating, the friendly hosts and tranquil setting make for a memorable and enjoyable stay.
Most guests found the property acceptably clean, but several reviews mention issues such as an unclean barbecue, kitchen bin, cooker, and some bedding. These concerns were not universal but were noted by multiple guests.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to Ross-on-Wye and local attractions, and suitability for countryside walks. Its seclusion is seen as a positive by most guests.
Guests consistently highlight the spaciousness, comfortable beds, and ample seating. Some mention creaky floors and occasional issues with heating, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The cottage is well equipped for large groups, with plenty of kitchenware and seating. Some facilities, such as the fridge freezer and heating, are described as tired or in need of updating, and the garden could be tidier.

We had a lovely holiday and much needed family time. Foxcote does need some updating but the owners were very responsive and helpful when we reported a broken fridge. Those with light sleeping children do need to be aware that it is a very noisy house - the floors and doors are very creaky as are the pipes. The location is fantastic for access to the river and forest walks at Symonds Yat and we had great fun exploring Ross on wye and travelling a bit further to Hay as well. The Internet signal is poor which is either a plus or a minus depending on your view! The space was fantastic and the beds really comfortable

This is a large house on a farm let out by a friendly couple. A great place for our large family of 10 and 2 dogs. As a walking family it was a great location with plenty of walks from the doorstep (though not all were well trodden). Not being near local amenities was fine for us but may not suit others. There was plenty of seating to accommodate everyone both at the table and in the lounge.A downside to the property was that it did look a bit tired, and could use some tidying of the garden. However with two dogs we were pleased to find it was fully enclosed and needn't worry about letting the dogs off or out at night.

We stayed at Foxcote during the Easter break as a family trip of four adults and five children and had a wonderful stay. Such a lovely property with so much room and character. The living room and kitchen/dining room are both particularly well sized to cater for larger groups. We were able to access Netflix and Prime on the TV too which is always good for the evenings. It's very well located just a few minutes off the dual carriageway but also secluded enough to feel like you're getting away from it all. The working farm filled with sheep and cows is so nice to be around too. The larger towns and shops are within a 10/15 minute drive, so many walks close to the property or within a few minutes drive too. Had some nice conversations with the owners too who were very helpful in recommending things to do in the local area. The Crosskeys pub is only a mile walk down the lane too. Would highly recommended this property to anyone looking to stay.
