Bit of a long one but! ! …..Positives and negatives! Positives….Gorgeous park and setting, well maintained and pretty and I would imagine ordinarily quite peaceful. Blossom lodge had nice decor, lovely views and was clean with everything we needed. Negatives….On arrival we had a problem with a very unpleasant ‘bathroom’ smell in the en suite and bedroom area. The reception sent out a maintenance guy who arrived in 10 minutes and said a ‘trap’ hadn’t been filled with water and was causing the smell, he sorted it and we opened windows and it was fine after half an hour. I hate complaining but we couldn’t have stayed as it was. Before booking the lodge I had rang the park to ask which lodge gets sun on the decking to be able to sit out, to which I was told Blossom lodge. It does get sun in the morning but unfortunately after 3 pm it is fully shaded with zero sun. This meant it was too chilly to sit out in the afternoon/ evening. I’m not sure why I was recommended this lodge as I explicitly rang prior to staying to ask which lodge gets the sun. We watched others sat in the sun in their lodges across from us (I think may be privately owned). After having to complain about the smell , I didn’t want to have to also complain again about this, so left it. The sunken hot tub was great and well maintained, but!! it is literally 3 feet from the bedroom we were in and you can hear a definite humming/ drone all night that is on and off and seems to vibrate through the bedroom. We both had pretty poor sleeps due to this and my hubby got up at 2 am one night to turn it off. The maintenance guy showed us how to do this but it only kept it off continually around 3 hours. It was the on/ off of the noise that disturbed sleep. We turned it off fully on the last night and slept well as we weren’t using it the last day. We’ve stayed in lodges with sunken tubs before and whilst you can hear them inside the lodge during use they have been quiet when not in use/ overnight. One morning 8am a maintenance guy parked up around 20 metres away in a big green open top jeep type vehicle with the loud engine chugging and phutting for a solid 20 minutes.Overall gorgeous park, bad experience. (left tired, lack of sleep!). The manager did respond and gave apologies for our experience.
