Guests say

Garden Barn in Shropshire is highly praised for its stunning views, tranquil setting, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, cleanliness, and the warm welcome from the hosts. The property's rural charm and the presence of farm animals add to the delightful experience, although the access road's condition is noted. Overall, it's a favoured spot for a peaceful retreat with opportunities for local exploration.

The property consistently receives high commendation for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'very clean' and 'well presented'. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to guests' comfort and satisfaction.

The location is celebrated for its peacefulness, beautiful countryside views, and proximity to local attractions. However, some guests mention the poor condition of the access road, which slightly impacts the overall score.

Guests find the beds super comfortable and the property spacious, contributing to a restful stay. There are a few mentions of a bed being too soft and a stiff shower control, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.

The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and offers a range of amenities including Wi-Fi and a fishing lake. Maintenance issues like a stiff shower control and a French door in need of repair are noted, slightly lowering the score.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience with the hosts and the property, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

About this property

A lovely, stone-built, detached cottage decorated and furnished in a traditional country style, boasting a wealth of original beams and trusses, and a lovely patio area with views over the owner's large pond (with resident swans) and surrounding countryside.

The small village of Billingsley is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and is only seven miles from Bridgnorth. The area offers excellent walking and cycling routes, as well as boasting easy access to country parks, great houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages. Visitors can enjoy a trip to the town of Bridgnorth - winner of the 'Britain in Bloom' award - which is comprised of the High Town and the Low Town connected by winding streets and stairs. The bustling Saturday street market is an excellent way to explore the town or alternatively, it is possible to visit the impressive castle ruins and take a ride on the steep funicular railway. The approach road to the farm is horrendous although we understand that this is down to the council to repair but it doesn’t do the car any good. It would have been nice to have a welcome pack . The outlook from the barn is lovely and is probably wonderful during the summer months. The sofas are rather tired and in my opinion could do with replacing. We were a little disappointed but we still enjoyed our week there.

The only downside was the rough road to the property. We would stay here again.

Views from cottage marvellous. Would have been nice to know if there were areas on farm where we could go for a walk. Lots of nice pubs for food, although a drive away. Access lane needs serious attention. Cottage lovely and well equipped, beds comfy, sofa possibly needs replacing. Very helpful advise on controlling heating. A welcome pack would have been nice.
