Guests say

The Highlands is a well-regarded cottage in Church Stretton, appreciated for its privacy, beautiful garden, and quiet location. It is conveniently situated for walking and local amenities. While some guests found the kitchen equipment and bed arrangements lacking, the property was praised for its cleanliness and spaciousness. The owner's helpfulness and the peaceful setting were highlights, though some noted a need for better instructions and equipment.

Guests consistently described the property as clean and tidy, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating a high standard of upkeep.

The location is praised for its stunning setting and convenience for walking and sightseeing, though one guest felt it was a bit far from the town centre.

The property is generally found to be comfortable, with a spacious layout and pleasant gardens. However, concerns about bed suitability for adults and the need for warmer bedding during colder seasons slightly affect the comfort score.

Facilities are adequate, with mentions of a well-maintained garden and a freezer in the garage. However, guests noted a lack of kitchen equipment, difficulty with shower operation, and a need for better instructions for the fire and bin collection.

The owner's helpfulness and the provision of biscuits, sweets, and milk are appreciated gestures of thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts may vary and are not guaranteed, they should be considered a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

This property had everything we needed to cook evening meals and was equipped for the 4 people staying. Clean and tidy.

The area is very quiet. However, the kitchen is rather spartan as far as equipment is concerned. For example only four of everything (plates, mugs, cutlery etc) so if you break a plate you’re stuck if there are four guests. Could do with some decent wine glasses and more than the three pairs of the other glasses which are available. Also as the season gets colder either warmer duvets or a supply of blankets.

We enjoyed our stay very much and the heating was very welcome in a rather cool July. There is an undercounter size freezer in the garage which isn't mentioned in the description and was very welcome as the fridge is a larder type with no ice box. The single beds were a good size and very comfortable for an adult. It is an ideal centre for National Trust properties such as Croft Castle, Attingham Park, Berrington Hall and Dudmaston Hall as well as English Heritage Stokesay Castle. We would highly recommend the Highlands and very pleased we discovered it on the website.
