A particular popular area for cyclists and walkers. The village has a comprehensively stocked store/fuel station. Pros - lovely setting, spacious, well appointed and ideal for our family gathering Cons - lack of shelf space in bathrooms particularly nowhere to put shower gel or soap in the shower and lack of hooks everywhere so can’t hang towels, coats or dressing gowns. No shelves for jumpers in smaller bedroom. Minor details but commented on by our guests. Overall a brilliant property, quiet and exactly what we wanted.

We've just spent a perfect week at Jacobs Plock and plan to come back again next year. The barn is well designed and equipped and the sliding glass doors make the most of the beautiful views - perfect for bird watching, watching the sheep, rabbits, pheasants and other wildlife, or star-gazing at night. It is so quiet and peaceful! The bedrooms are comfortable, there's a really useful utility room, and the lounge space is perfect for lounging! We were lucky enough to have excellent sunny weather so didn't need the wood burner, but I'm sure we would have made good use of it if the weather had been colder. Logs are provided, but no matches or firelighters, so come prepared in winter!Despite its quiet setting, it is only a shortish walk into the village along the river (or along the road). The Spar stocks most essentials and we had a very decent meal at the Lion Inn. Our favourite however was the Sun Inn parlour pub - well worth a visit (or two)!
