Just a five minute walk away you can enjoy the exciting rides, beautiful gardens and superb water park of Alton Towers, while the Peak District beckons with the lovely market town of Ashbourne and Chatsworth House within easy reach and an array of activities, such as horse riding, golf and walking on offer in the area. A great base for an Alton Towers cottage holiday.
The village of Farley consists of a small scattering of cottages and farms on the Alton Towers estate. Alton Towers has rides and attractions aimed at everyone, including white knuckle rides, Toyland for the younger guests, boating on the lake, magnificent gardens and rides on the cable car. Nearby, the market town of Ashbourne features an array of antique stores and a choice of pubs and restaurants. Attractions like Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Dovedale, and the Derbyshire Villages of Ilam, Hartington and are also within easy reach.

Its location is a major plus, just a short 5-10 minute walk to the Alton Towers entrance (our reason for booking here). The house comfortably accommodated our group of 8, though it's certainly big enough for 10. Dining was a highlight â the large table was perfect for meals and card games. The kitchen was well-equipped with a toaster, kettle, oven, hob, and fridge freezer (though an air fryer would be a nice addition). All necessary utensils were provided. The lounge area was spacious and the sofa was comfy. A larger TV would enhance the experience, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. The bedrooms were tidy, and the number of bathrooms was ideal for our group size. The location was perfect â quiet in the evenings and overnight, ensuring a good night's sleep. Plus, parking for three cars was a definite bonus. Special thanks to our hosts Sarah and Nick. We highly recommend Bunbury Cottage for anyone visiting Alton Towers as a group!

The accommodation was clean and spacious if in need of a little TLC in places. The sofa wasn't too comfortable as it was very soft and the back was low. On the whole, we enjoyed Christmas at Bunbury as it gave us the opportunity to spend it with our three wonderful grown-up children. â¤ï¸

House has everything you need (even tea bags which we forgot). Plenty of space, warm and comfortable. This was our second visit and wonât be our last!
