Guests say

This cottage is exceptionally well located for Alton Towers, making it a popular choice for families and groups visiting the park. Guests appreciate the spacious layout, ample parking, and responsive hosts. Many found the property comfortable and well-equipped for large groups, with some thoughtful touches from the owners. However, several reviews mention that the property would benefit from a deep clean, updated furnishings, and some maintenance. Overall, the cottage offers a convenient and practical base for a memorable stay in the area.

Cleanliness is mixed, with some guests finding the property clean and comfortable, while others noted issues such as dust, cobwebs, dirty kitchenware, and bedding. Several reviews specifically mention the need for a deep clean and improved attention to detail.

The location is universally praised, with guests highlighting its unbeatable proximity to Alton Towers and suitability for exploring the local area. Walking distance to the park is a major advantage.

Guests generally found the cottage spacious and suitable for large groups, but comfort is let down by dated and worn furniture, particularly the beds and sofas. Some beds were described as uncomfortable or too low, though others found them fine.

Facilities are adequate for group stays, with well-equipped kitchens and useful amenities. However, several guests noted maintenance issues, such as broken beds, dated furniture, small fridge, and minor repairs needed. Some kitchen equipment and utensils could be improved.

Many guests appreciated the owner's responsiveness and helpfulness, and some mentioned thoughtful touches such as a Christmas tree and festive treats. Please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

We found it clean and everything worked. As others say, the beds need throwing away. The sofa is ok but looks tired and uninviting. Showers and bathrooms we found really good. Dishwasher is narrow type so you'll gave to get the washing up liquid out on occasion. TV's could do with updating but worked ok. As a place to stay for Alton towers, cannot be beaten although mind the road when you cross

We were also very appreciative of the owner allowing us to park at the property on the day of arrival and to drop off some food and store it in another fridge while we spent the day at Alton Towers. These were thoughtful gestures and very much appreciated. Unfortunately, this is where the positives ended for us, as we were disappointed with the condition of the property. The accommodation is very tired and, in our opinion, is in serious need of refurbishment. The general cleanliness was also disappointing and fell below the standard we would expect. The furnishings, particularly the beds and sofa, are noticeably worn and really need to be replaced. The overall condition of the accommodation made it difficult for us to feel comfortable and enjoy our stay as much as we had hoped.

Sadly the accommodation was let down . The downstairs bathroom door frame was split temporarily repaired but still stuck the door causing difficulty existing the bathroom . The bath tap wobbly the bottom of shower screen was dirty around the seal corner of bath dirty lime scale remover would have fixed this . Beds were very low hard to exit . Pillows poor quality and degrading duvet covers could do with hot wash soaking .dust behind all beds and furniture . Wood burner not in use no logs supplied as promised in listing. fridge to small for large party . No non stick frying pan . Bird poo and cobwebs on velux windows upstairs .The communal grass area tall grass and weeds not suitable for children to play on . Broken bed upstairs . Tv remote connection issues. Unusual bed layout why two double beds in one room?.The accommodation needs a deep clean and beds need replacing.
