Bunbury Cottage is praised for its prime location, particularly for Alton Towers visitors, with a cosy atmosphere and responsive host. While some guests mention the need for updates and deeper cleaning, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property clean and welcoming, while others noted issues such as sticky floors, cobwebs, and unclean kitchenware, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The location receives high praise for its proximity to Alton Towers, with guests appreciating the short walk to the park. The convenience and ease of access are consistently highlighted as major positives.
Comfort is generally well-received, with guests finding the beds comfy and the property spacious. However, some guests mentioned issues with mattresses and noise from the water system, indicating that while comfort is good, there is potential for enhancement.
Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen and the inclusion of a cosy log fire. However, guests have suggested that some facilities require maintenance or upgrading, such as the hot water system and kitchen utensils.
There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the host that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness towards guests.

The bedrooms were great as were the 3 bathrooms. Iâd read some of the previous reviews so I was a bit worried before we arrived but we really had no complaints. It is right on the doorstep of Alton Towers and it couldnât be any easier to walk across to get into the park . We would definitely stay here again to visit Alton Towers

We left the cottage at 9.50 and were walking through the park gates at 10. Also some nice pubs nearby that do good food. - Spacious living area and patio. - Nice and quiet, there was an adjoining cottage that shares a wall but we still hardly heard anything. - 3 bathrooms, all with showers, is very nice for larger groups. Cons: - The cottage could do with being cleaned a little better, the floor in the living room was very dirty and there was a good build up of dust in places. - The upstairs gets very warm and could do with some more ventilation/air conditioning. - Some of the facilities could do with a refresh. The TV is quite small/old especially for the size of the living room, the wi-fi isn't the best (mobile 5G was a savior here) and the fridge was making a dull whining noise a lot of the time that was a little annoying. The Patio door is also very sticky and needs a good bit of force to open it, we were a little scared we might break it with how hard you have to push it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider again if we were to return to the area :)

( there was a note telling us we could switch it off , but we could not source where!) The kitchen could do with serving dishes , and general utensils eg pizza cutter , colander , . Decent oven trays . We were asked on departure , to remove bed linen from quilts , on doing this we were rather taken aback by the state of the quilts ⦠lots of staining and one quilt in particular was torn ⦠not nice
