Stratford-upon-Avon 2 miles. This delightful, semi-detached cottage is ideally located within easy reach of the ancient town of Stratford-upon-Avon. The property has five lovely bedrooms, including one set on the ground floor and a master bedroom with en-suite facilities. Highcroft is a house with 2 halves. There are 2 staircases, one leading from the entrance hall to the master bedroom with an ensuite and a small room with a single bed with trundle bed under. This room is an adjoining room between the 2 halves.The other staircase leads from the downstairs bedroom to the other landing with the family bathroom and 3 bedrooms, including the adjoining room leading off.
The spacious, farmhouse-style kitchen offers a welcoming dining area, while the cosy sitting room is accompanied by a warming open fire. In the summer, the patio doors can be swept open to invite inside a cooling breeze. Outside, the large, private lawned garden is ideal for an alfresco feast, while a shared tennis court and a further 2.5 acres of unique wildlife gardens, shared with the adjoining holiday cottages, will be adored by all. Disappointing stay and, unfortunately, a regretted choice. We paid £1,089 for three nights for nine family members, including children and dogs, to come together for a family holiday. Upon arrival there was no window in one of the rooms. A workman was there working on it and we were then asked if we minded if the workman returned the next day to finish the window. Being under the impression it would be for an hour and we wanted a secure window we said okay. However, the next day there were people in the garden doing gardening and the workman working on another window of the bedroom my 13 and 15year old daughters were literally in. I spoke to the workman who finished the window and left, only to receive a message from the owner asking if the workman could return to finish their project, inviting me round to discuss it and how it 'never occurred to them they could be in the way'. Not wanting conflict and to focus on enjoying the holiday we agreed the work could continue while we went out. There was also a significant fly infestation in the kitchen. We swatted more than 60 flies using the provided swatter during the stay, despite keeping doors and windows closed, and flies were continually present in the kitchen Overall, for £1,089, we expected a clean, private and uninterrupted family stay. Unfortunately, the ongoing works and fly infestation meant the property did not meet those expectations.

A floorplan would have been really useful, especially as I had made a mistake and should have booked a property with 6 bedrooms rather than 5. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need and the seating in the lounge was plentiful and comfortable. The grounds were perfect for our needs, with an enclosed garden and additional tennis court which doubled as a bike track for the 3 year old member of the group. Our ages ranged from 78 to 3 years old (+ dog) and we all had a great time

We throughly enjoyed out time there, there was plenty of room, the grounds were amazing and everyone loved the tennis court which for us doubled as a pickle ball court. The hosts were wonderful, Sue's scones were delightful. The location was so close to everything, it was great. Everything you need was there.
