On arrival at the cottage, park up in one of the off-road parking spaces and make your way through the courtyard and into your home-from-home. Head straight to the kitchen to whip up a meal for your loved ones with the electric oven and hob and allow the dishwasher to make cleaning up a breeze. Make your way to the living/dining room, where you will find a dining table for six guests for mealtimes and relax in front of the fire as you sink into the plush sofas. Upstairs, three tastefully decorated bedrooms provide sleeping quarters, one of which hosting a king-size, four poster, another with a double with decadent gold furnishings, and a final double. Wake up and freshen up in the bathroom, which completes the interior of the cottage, and head outside to enjoy fresh air and a morning coffee in the courtyard. Be sure to take advantage of the additional facilities on the grounds, or perhaps venture out into the nearby towns to fill your holiday with activities and culture. Just a short drive away is the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare and host to popular attractions including Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall and Anne Hathaway's Cottage, which is open seasonally; the beautiful town also offers a lovely day for animal and insect lovers, with an afternoon well-spent at Stratford Butterfly Farm. Slightly further afield is the market town of Chipping Campden, where you can spend your day idling around the National Trust's picture-perfect Hidcote 20th-century gardens or the dramatic 400-year-old Market Hall. Travelling further into the Cotwolds AONB, attractions such as the Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre can be found, you can simply relish is in exploring the famous and idyllic quaint villages foot. Welford-on-Avon is a lovely conservation community nestled on the banks of the River Avon in the magnificent Warwickshire countryside. Welford has three village pubs, including the award-winning Bell Inn, which voted the finest dining pub in Warwickshire in 2016. Welford is around 5 miles from Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Welford also features a general store, a butcher's, a children's play area, one of England's tallest maypoles, numerous thatched houses, and a prominent golf course. With The Greenway, Shakespeare Way, and the Heart of England Way all close by, this area offers many excellent walks and biking paths. Stratford-upon-Avon is a major tourist destination that is home to the famous Royal Shakespeare Company and several fascinating properties associated with Shakespeare's family that are open all year and have 16th century furniture as well as magnificent grounds and gardens. River cruises, rowing, motorboat rides, and fishing are just a few of the activities available on the River Avon. Visit the area's several National Trust sites, Warwick Castle, and the unspoiled Cotswold villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Mickleton, and Moreton-in-Marsh. At any time of year, it's a fantastic vacation spot.
