Oakworth is a small Pennine village near Haworth that overlooks the Worth Valley and became well-known after the film adaptation of E.E. Nesbitt's novel The Railway Children was shot there in 1970. Oakworth has a lovely beautiful park and is conveniently located near both Haworth and the moors. It is also not far from Keighley. The nearby town of Haworth served as home to the literary Bront sisters, who found inspiration in the local moors. Against the backdrop of the countryside made famous in the novel Wuthering Heights, Haworth is home to a plethora of curiosity and antique shops, lanes, and cobblestone streets that create a great historical ambiance. The mediaeval village of Oxenhope is not far away, and the Worth Valley Railway, a genuine steam railway made famous by the movie The Railway Children, provides for a beautiful day trip. Several well-known attractions, such as the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail, may all be found in the neighbourhood. Skipton, the Yorkshire Dales' gateway market town, is close by, as are Harrogate's refined charms, as well as the vivacity of Leeds and Manchester.
