Guests say

Crown Hill Lodge is highly praised for its stunning views, peaceful setting, and excellent access to local walks, pubs, and train links. Guests consistently enjoy the private hot tub and well-equipped lodge, making it ideal for relaxing breaks and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The property is dog-friendly and offers a welcoming atmosphere. Some guests noted minor issues with towels, bed comfort, and occasional maintenance, but these did not detract from the overall positive experience. The lodge is especially popular with returning visitors, highlighting its appeal as a restful countryside retreat.

Most guests found the lodge clean and well-presented, with only a few isolated comments about dog smells or minor cleanliness issues. The majority of reviews describe the property as immaculate or very clean.

The location is frequently described as stunning, peaceful, and ideal for exploring the Dales, with excellent views and convenient access to local amenities, walks, and train stations.

Guests generally found the lodge comfortable and spacious, with positive remarks about the sofas and overall layout. However, several reviews mention hard or small beds and occasional issues with heating or noise, slightly lowering the score.

The lodge is well-equipped, with a standout hot tub and all necessary kitchen items. Some guests noted a lack of Wi-Fi, limited towels, and minor maintenance issues (e.g., doors, gates, or patio), but overall facilities are rated highly.

Owners are described as helpful and responsive, and the lodge is well-stocked for guests' needs. While no gifts are mentioned, the provision of essentials and assistance is appreciated, though towels and instructions could be improved. Please note that gifts are not guaranteed.

This cabin is very basic and considering we were booked for a week stay the towel situation was appalling there was one tea towel no hand towels at all and the excuse for bath towels were unbelievable I would not even wipe down my dog with them, we took our own for the hot tub use. There were no bathroom mats or non slip mats and no shelves in shower or bathroom, no remote for the dvd player and instructions for anything were all over the place and not all together in one folder. The patio slabs uneven and very noisy.location was good and two local pubs made up for it and we had a good time but won't be rushing back.

We stayed at Crown Hill Lodge for 4 nights mid week, The Lodge was very spacious and comfy, Added bonus of an enclosed area at the rear with a Hot Tub, Table & chairs also two sun lounger. As another review mentioned, the back gate can be pushed open if you had a strong dog, but we also pulled the heavy bench up against it to stop the dog escaping. The fencing was a good height etc.Remember to take a couple of extra towels for when using the hot tub as others have mentioned . Also a spare hand towel if you like a shower mat to step out onto. As there wasn’t one provided on our visit. The village itself is busy with cars, and keep in mind that both of the village pubs may not serve food until the wkends. Which was the case for us. The Train station is at the bottom of the village. & is Handy for visiting a number of places. We used it for skipton. And it passes through every 15 mins or so. We had no issues with the Lodge and found it to very comfortable and it has lovely views of fields etc. nice to see the grazing cows . All in all a good stay ! Thank you

Me my partner and dog stayed for 3 nights. The good points are the lodge has beautiful views, a fabulous hot tub and is in a lovely village can't fault that, but the lodge itself needs updating....there is no WiFi, the only TV in the lounge is far to small! we was given 2 towels for 2 people for 3 nights! (I Suppose we could have asked for extra but why? Towels should be available and if not they should detail this on the booking) the fridge is tiny considering it sleeps 5 people, all the internal doors don't close properly, the back gate isn't secure so we had to prop a bench up against it to stop our dog escaping, needs a shelf in the shower for toiletries! This lodge would be worth the money and 5 stars if the owners spent a little money and time to bring it upto date, but we wouldn't stay here again the way it is at the moment.
