Waterside Lodge Fourteen offers a cosy and peaceful retreat with beautiful views and a well-loved hot tub, making it ideal for relaxing getaways. Guests appreciate the tranquil setting, wildlife, and helpful staff. While many found the lodge clean and well-equipped, some noted maintenance issues and areas needing a little TLC. The location is convenient for exploring nearby attractions, though access and site tidiness could be improved. Overall, the property provides a comfortable stay with thoughtful touches, making it popular for family breaks and special occasions.
Most guests found the lodge clean and tidy on arrival, but several mentioned issues such as mould, dirty skirting boards, and occasional unpleasant smells. Some areas, like chair covers and bathrooms, were noted as needing more attention.
The setting is widely praised for its beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to nature and local attractions. Some guests mentioned access challenges due to steep steps and a pot-holed road, but overall the location is a highlight.
Guests enjoyed the cosy atmosphere, comfy beds, and relaxing hot tub. However, some found the seating insufficient or uncomfortable for larger groups, and a few noted temperature issues at night.
The hot tub, kitchen amenities, and log fire are appreciated, but recurring issues with drainage, fridge/freezer, WiFi, and minor repairs were reported. Some facilities, like the sofa and outdoor areas, could benefit from upgrades and better maintenance.
Several guests mentioned thoughtful touches such as supplied logs, tea, coffee, milk, and plastic glasses for the hot tub. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Looking tired and tatty in comparison to the photos. Dirty skirting boards, dirty chair covers, paint that needs touching up. Building work going on next door that sometimes started at 8am. General site is looking messy with piles of building rubbish, and sewage is clearly leaking out of the septic tank system in to one of the ponds. Sharp knives in the kitchen all completely blunt, lids missing for nearly all the saucepans, enough crockery for occupancy numbers, but none spare. The view is beautiful, but for the price charged the finish of the property and general grounds is lacking.

Me and my partner stayed for 5 nights and it was just absolutely perfect. A lovely quiet place right in the lake and was so peaceful. A very cozy atmosphere with the log fire and hot tub and all the information u could need about places to eat and see.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful location. Very well equipped for cleaning, tea, coffee etc. Several minor repairs needed - hot tub light didn’t work, window handle hanging off etc. Seating was very uncomfortable for us (retired grandparents) but is probably adequate for younger people The temperature outside was freezing but we were cosy and warm
