Guests say

Waterside Lodge One is highly praised for its cleanliness, stunning location by the canal, and excellent facilities including a well-equipped kitchen and hot tub. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches such as provided essentials and the friendly staff. Some noted the need for more storage space and better heating, but overall, the property offers a fantastic break with beautiful views and ample space for families and friends.

Guests consistently mention the property being spotlessly clean, with one minor note about glasses left in the dishwasher. The attention to cleanliness, especially with the hot tub, is frequently commended.

The property's location is celebrated for its picturesque setting by the canal, ideal for walks and visiting nearby villages. The only drawback mentioned is the lack of clear signage for the entrance.

The lodge is generally found to be comfortable with ample space and lovely bathrooms. However, several reviews point out the lack of storage space and one mentions inadequate heating, which affects the comfort score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and clean hot tub. The three-floor layout is appreciated, though the need for stair renovation and better communication are noted. The issue with the stair gate and broken glasses slightly lowers the score.

Many reviews highlight the thoughtful touches such as the provision of essentials like towels and tea. While these are appreciated, it's important to note that such amenities are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Within a 15-minute drive you’ll reach the wonderful hidden gem of Piece Hall, and Grade II listed Shibden Hall most recognisable from BBC’s ’Gentleman Jack’. For those with children, Eureka! The National Children’s Museum is also just 15 minutes drive. The beautiful cobbled streets of Haworth, once home to the famous Brontë sisters, can be reached in around 30 minutes, and both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Park in under an hour and a half. Perfect lodge, had everything we needed including towels, tea towel, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and sugarThe only negative I could find was the entrance to where the lodges are isn’t marked up, we ended up going past it

Great location for visiting the canals and villages of Calderdale. Lovely view from the top floor. Ideal for canal walks into Elland or Brighouse. Piece Hall only 15 minutes drive, and 30 minutes to Hebdon Bridge and Haworth. All worth a visit. We were a part of 4 plus dog. Whilst the lodge was beautifully clean my only criticism would be lack of storage space in bedroom and no pint or tall glasses. We stayed for a week and living out of cases isn't ideal. Overall still a great stay with lovely staff.

lovely well kept place, nestled in the nature reserve on the canal banks. we went for a family holiday and enjoyed the quiet area and peaceful atmosphere. with the cottage split over 3 floors, it was a little challenging running up and down the stairs. however the cottage is very well kept and allows you to feel at home as soon as you open the door! communication was slow and unclear, once you arrive however the staff are polite and very helpful.
