There was a well equipped kitchen and the sunken Jacuzzi bath was lovely. Nice big TV and good sized fridge freezer. The garden had a couple of places to sit out in and enjoy the sun. However the negative points rather outweighed the positive. The house is very near to a primary school and a LOT of screaming went on, before, during and after school hours. There was also very loud piped music on occasion for lessons outside. There are no instructions for anything. I Googled the local council about bins and recycling, I spent ages looking for the room thermostat to eventually decide there wasn't one and had to work out the controls directly on the boiler - which is in a walk in cupboard with no light! Never did figure out the shower properly, but hit on a reasonable temperature and flow by the third day. Didn't get any water out of the jets further down the panel though. The TV took a bit of figuring out too. Although the towels and bedding were clean, the bedding was decidedly retro, maybe to fit in with the Seventies theme, but I'm not a fan of Bri-nylon! Unfortunately the cleanliness of the rest of the place seemed to be on the surface only, with items like light switches and the bedroom remote filthy. The kitchen had to have a good clean down before use, though I drew the line at a food encrusted chopping board and just hid it out of sight. The sink is almost totally blocked up. There are rather a lot of cobwebs around windows and in corners. This is a house that is lived in, not a holiday home and so you can expect personal items, but it is not usual to leave underwear drying on a radiator nor used toothbrushes in the bathroom cabinet! There was lots of clutter in cupboards and in the lone wardrobe provided for use - there was nowhere to hang clothes in the main bedroom. Perhaps lose the Rolf Harris record and the 70's compilations with extremely sexist covers? The garden was mainly an overgrown building site, nothing like the standard in the photos, with rubbish and rubble everywhere. The nice big table and chairs set was also nowhere to be seen. We kept to the patio area and the small patch of grass just above. Beware the steps, on the top flight there is a very loose slab on the top right hand side. On trying to order food to be delivered, it turns out the the house address doesn't exist. Filling in the online menu brings up a list of house numbers and names, but this one wasn't included. Cue a stressful half hour watching out the window for the delivery guy and trying to nab him before he took our food to the neighbouring address we had to put down!
