Guests say

Pampita Lodge is a charming cottage with a lovely garden, set in a peaceful location with local wildlife and nearby amenities. Guests have enjoyed the surrounding nature and the property's potential for a delightful stay.

Reviews indicate that while the property appears clean at first glance, deeper cleaning issues such as cobwebs, a musty smell, and a lack of deep cleaning are present. Some guests found the cleanliness level disappointing.

The location is praised for its peacefulness and proximity to wildlife, with a busy main road noted as a minor inconvenience. The nearby pub and amenities add to the location's appeal.

The lodge is generally considered comfortable, though some guests found the mattresses in the twin bedroom uncomfortable for adults. The spaciousness and private setting contribute positively to guest comfort.

Facilities require attention, with reports of worn cooking equipment, unsafe walkways, and garden maintenance issues. Some guests were satisfied with the equipment, but the need for renovation and repair is evident.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Tickton Hall is a 110-acre private country estate nestled at the end of a tree lined drive just outside the historical market town of Beverley. It is also home to the Beverley Polo Club with two polo pitches, fabulous full-size arena and stabling for up to 60 horses. You just might be able to catch a polo match during your stay! You can even bring your horse on holiday with you, subject to availability at our Horse Hotel! These delightful, detached holiday properties (refs UKC458 and W44279) provide tastefully furnished bases from which to explore the area, or simply sit back and relax.

There are superb walks straight from the cottage and lodge doors. Or if you are looking for a longer hike, the estate links to designated walks along the river bank that extend for miles.

Beverley, 4 miles, is well known for its racecourse, minster and many boutiques and excellent coffee shops. The coast at Hornsea can be reached within 10 miles, with traditional amusements and promenade, and a wildlife centre at Hornsea Mere. York, a great place for a day out, is about an hour’s drive, and The Deep at Hull, one of the UK’s biggest aquariums, is about half an hour away. Beach 10 miles. Sadly we could not recommend it for the following reasons:apart from our lodge the others on the site were derelictThe exterior and interior of Pampita Lodge were both in need of renovation The cooking equipment (oven trays, frying pan etc) needed replacement. There was no signal for computer despite using settings provided. On the plus side the garden was lovely and safe for the dog.

It’s a lovely cottage, set in lovely grounds. Had a very lovely holiday and I would recommend it to anybody, and will definitely go again. Everywhere in Beverly is very dog friendly if you plan on bringing your dog. The Tesco is only a ten minute drive, which was perfect. Plenty of space to cook and four of us stayed. The only thing I would say is that the main road is quite busy coming from the cottage, which means sometimes it’s a struggle to come out, up to 5 minutes. But other than that we loved it!!! Thank you so much.

Interior - Woodwork and paintwork in urgent need of attention, windows were filthy, rusty radiator, damp musty smell from bathroom which permeated into bedroom, 2 smaller bedrooms were fusty smelling, freezer filled with ice build up with bottom drawer so bad it wouldn’t open and top drawer just full of ice, cracked rusty sink tap. About a centimetre of washing up liquid, ditto hand soap, nosurface spray, kitchen roll, air freshener. One large saucepan, 3 revolting rusty baking trays.Outside - filthy decking, dangerous loose planks on walkway, dead shrubs in pots, weeds, piles of rotten apples covered in wasps and a rat was feeding one morning, roof thick with moss which lands on patio daily, owner told us there was a brush inthe bedroom which I pointed out was an indoor brush. She did sweep the moss and left us a broom, outdoor table and chairs are tatty, garden sofa without cushions which we asked got and got the following day. There is a big gap at the end of the hedge at the bottom of the garden with wildly overgrown land so the garden as well as being untidy & dirty and not a nice place to sit is most definitely not secure for your dogHugely disappointing and if I had seen the review posted on the day we arrived before we set off I would have cancelled I bought air freshener and diffuser and had a good wipe down with antibacterial spray yet nothing got rid of the musty smell that and overall cleanliness and scruffy garden spoilt our break - unloved and desperately in need of work inside and out
