Guests say

Guests appreciate the spacious garden, secure for dogs, and the hot tub. The cottage is cosy with a wood burner and large bedrooms. The location offers peace and proximity to local towns and beaches, though a car is essential. Some guests noted areas for improvement, particularly in cleanliness and maintenance, but found the property's charm and helpful hosts contributed to a pleasant stay.

Reviews indicate some concerns with cleanliness, such as mildew on windows, cobwebs, and dirty kitchen items. However, not all reviews mention cleanliness issues, suggesting experiences may vary.

The property is described as peaceful and well-situated for local towns and beaches, though some guests noted a 30-minute drive to attractions. The secure garden and nearby fields are appreciated by dog owners.

The property is generally considered comfortable, with a cosy wood burner and large bedrooms. Some guests found the beds and water pressure lacking, but overall comfort levels are satisfactory.

Facilities like the hot tub and enclosed garden are highlights, but guests reported issues with kitchen equipment, maintenance, and a need for TLC. Quick resolution of a leaky sink indicates responsive management.

While some guests would have appreciated a welcome pack with essentials, and dog-specific amenities like treats and beds, these were not consistently mentioned across reviews. As such, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

Very comfortable beds, cosy with the log burner. Excellent large secure garden for the dogs. Kitchen well stocked with utensils etc. Didn't use the hot tub, but it did looked inviting. Can recommend Sunday lunch in The Roos Arms, very tasty. You do need a car though as it's very rural and no pavements, but very peaceful. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very disappointed with our stay , the house smelled of damp from bathroom and the kitchen ., Garden gate was a bit of a pain , as you have a bolt either side but no latch . As when you need to unload and load car you have to keep locking the gate , especially with a dog . Bins were not emptied, and did not know what bin was for what , no welcome pack even though it was stated on line when making booking . We arrived not even any milk to make a drink after a five hour journey. No local shops . Did not think there was enough utensils in the kitchen , nothing to clean with , no mattress protector on bed , towels were thrown on kitchen table , only one hand towel , no kitchen towel . It would have been nice to have had a mirror in bedroom , as had to stand by bathroom and plug hairdryer by the washing machine to dry hair . Garden furniture would have been nice to have had cushions , over all the house could do with a bit of tlc , paint peeling of in lounge , generally in need of decorating through . Floors are to be desired as don’t think there very dog friendly as dog kept slipping on wooden floor in lounge . Think garden needs tiding , also gaps between fence and the ground , if you have a small dog please be aware .
