There were cobwebs in every room, in the top corners, across the ceiling, under the coffee tables in the lounge, around furniture in the bedrooms, under the radiators - pretty much everywhere. Plugging in my phone charger was a daily brush with newly formed cobwebs - good job I'm not afraid of spiders! The radiator in the downstairs toilet was covered in rust, there was no towel rail/hook for the hand towel and when I reported that the kitchen bin did not open I was told by Sue, the host, that sometimes it didn't open and I should lift off the whole lid unit to put rubbish in the bin. This I feel was unacceptable - it was a pain to use this bin during food preparation. It's such a shame that the cleaning had been neglected and we didn't have a working kitchen bin, as we were pleased with the house and location (we loved hearing the sheep every day). The welcome pack of milk, bottle of wine, biscuits, a small supply of tea and coffee and fresh flowers on the dining table were appreciated and a nice touch, however.
