Tucked away in a quiet location in the rural village of Starbotton, this semi-detached, stone built barn conversion is set amidst the dramatic scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It has been lovingly converted and tastefully furnished, combining traditional features of original oak beams, Yorkshire stone floors and exposed stonework creating an ambient retreat.
The Dales Way passes close by and a walk up Buckden Pike affords some stunning views and wonderful photo opportunities, along with some more gentle walks along the riverbanks. Nearby is the thriving village of Grassington which is well served with a variety of country shops, pubs and cafés. In summer it hosts an Arts Festival, where you will find some famous musicians, poets and comedians, and in winter it holds the Dickensian Festival to get you in the mood for Christmas.
The bustling market town of Skipton is a little further afield and is known as the ‘gateway to the Dales’, its castle stands proudly at the head of its wide sweeping cobbled high street. There is a large selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, together with trips on the canal, a golf course and an indoor swimming pool. After all the daily activities in this magnificent Dale, take time to sit on the balcony, just off the living room, and take in the magnificent views. Alternatively, dine al fresco in the beautiful lawned garden surrounded by picturesque countryside or call at the family run village pub which serves food - a difficult choice! Shop 2 miles, pub ¼ mile, restaurant 2 miles.

We have just spent Christmas at Hilltop Barn ,the whole experience has been simply wonderful! The Barn is stunning and everything inside is of the highest standard and quality! Spotlessly clean and so well equipped and maintained for everything you could possibly need! I’m a chef and could not believe the amount of utensils , pots , pans etc that were provided…. Very impressive! Quite honestly the photos of this beautiful Barn do not do it justice! The local pub was very friendly and so welcoming to our Dog too! There is a Shop a few miles away but I did a click and collect which worked extremely well for our needs and was easy to plan before leaving home! On arrival at the Barn we were quite overwhelmed by the host’s generosity and kindness, leaving Christmas goodies for us to enjoy. The Barn was also beautifully decorated with festive charm. If you are looking for a holiday that offers beauty, tranquility , warmth with the perfect accommodation then look no further this place is totally amazing!

A lovely spacious and well equipped home that was perfect for our holiday. A quiet location with lots of walks direct from the cottage and a great pub, in the village, serving excellent food. Great for exploring Wharfdale and other Dales nearby. Parking was tight for 3 cars but manageable. Overall a fabulous holiday and an excellent cottage that we would definitely recommend to others.

Just back from a fantastic week at Hilltop Barn. A very peaceful setting in a cottage that has everything you need. Comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful garden, plenty of seating in the lounge. Only gave 'Average' for local amenities because there's only a pub (which was fantastic - enjoyed afternoon drinks and a meal there) in the village, but we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the Spar in Threshfield. Would highly recommend and would gladly stay here again. Missing it already!
