Guests say

The Sun House is a charming and cosy cottage, praised for its beautiful gardens, peaceful setting, and welcoming hosts. Guests consistently highlight its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent location for exploring Yorkshire. The property is well-equipped, with thoughtful touches and a warm atmosphere. While a few guests noted minor maintenance issues and the closure of the local pub, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a delightful base for a relaxing holiday.

The majority of reviews describe the cottage as spotless, very clean, and well maintained. Only one or two guests mentioned minor oversights, such as an unclean grill plate or milk left in the fridge, but these were rare exceptions.

Guests consistently praise the location for its tranquillity and convenience to local attractions, towns, and countryside. The only negative mentioned is the closure of the nearby pub, but this does not detract from the overall positive feedback about the setting.

The cottage is frequently described as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with underfloor heating and a gas stove appreciated by many. A small number of guests experienced issues with heating, but most found the property very comfortable.

Facilities are generally well regarded, with guests noting the well-equipped kitchen, gardens, and comfortable living spaces. Some mention a lack of certain kitchen utensils, no washing machine, and occasional maintenance issues, but these are outweighed by positive comments.

Many guests mention being warmly welcomed by the owners and appreciated small touches such as milk in the fridge. However, as gifts like milk are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

Small village in a great position to get to many of the attractions in the area or walking from the front door. A choice of 3 pubs close by, catering for all tastes and pockets.

But that is what we were with The Sun House. Not only does it have the old world charm yet modern amenities we desire, it is placed in the middle of two amazing garden spaces. Every window of the cottage provided a lovely view. The hosts were helpful with showing us the cottage and giving us some tips about things to see in the area. We had a great stay and hope to be back.
