Bridge House in Hawes is highly praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and modern amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and the convenience of its location close to local pubs and eateries. The property's dedicated parking and the helpfulness of the owner are also noted positively.
Guests consistently report that the cottage is spotlessly clean upon arrival, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable stay. One isolated mention of a cleaning issue with the fridge does not detract significantly from the overall high standards maintained.
The location is highly commended for being central and close to amenities, with easy access to local attractions and eateries. The convenience of having a designated parking space is frequently mentioned, although there is a single concern about potential parking issues.
The cottage is described as very comfortable, with large living areas and bedrooms. However, a few guests mention issues with heating and bed comfort, suggesting room for improvement in these areas.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a fully refurbished kitchen and the inclusion of Sky TV and WiFi. Some guests experienced minor issues with the washing machine and heating controls, indicating that while facilities are good, there is some room for maintenance improvements.

An outstanding stone-built terraced property, centrally located in the old market town of Hawes in Wensleydale. Fully renovated, this first-class cottage provides an ideal holiday home for small groups and families to get together and enjoy beautiful Wensleydale. Featuring spacious and contemporary styling throughout, this is a wonderful holiday base. The ground floor features a lovely sitting room with adjoining dining room, with cosy woodburning stove, and a stylish kitchen. The first floor features a beautiful designer bathroom, a delightful master bedroom with king-size bed and lovely en-suite. A further two bedrooms complement the layout and provide flexible sleeping arrangements for visitors. With its central location overlooking the main street, a south-facing terrace with furniture and with Gayle Beck flowing on the opposite side of the courtyard, this is a wonderful base for guests to relax and soak up the special atmosphere that the region offers. Bridge House is the perfect place for those wishing to be in the very heart of a thriving community, as traditional old pubs, fine restaurants and shops can be found amongst the nooks and crannies of the old town. There are fabulous walks from the doorstep, including Hardraw Force, England's highest unbroken waterfall, and the Pennine Way. The more energetic can face the famous Three Peaks challenge, as it is just a short drive away, while Gayle Mill, a fully-restored 19th century sawmill, which featured on Channel 4's How Britain Worked, is well worth a visit. A first-class cottage from which to explore Wensleydale, Swaledale and beyond.
The delightful market town of Hawes is the highest settlement in Wensleydale and home to the delicious Wensleydale cheese. The town is also famous for rope making; a skill passed down through the generations and a fascination for many of the visitors that come to the town. A regular market is held on a Tuesday and Hawes has many excellent shops and eateries in its midst. The beautiful limestone countryside surrounding the town provides a huge variety of walks and other outdoor pursuits, and for sightseeing opportunities the area is unsurpassed with the spectacular Hardraw Force and theAysgarth falls just two of the natural wonders to be seen. Hawes is a delightful town and makes a superb base for a holiday in this magnificent area.
