Wether Fell View is a well-decorated, cosy cottage praised for its spaciousness, tasteful furnishings, and scenic views. Its proximity to local shops, pubs, and countryside walks in Hawes makes it a convenient choice for visitors. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedding, and thoughtful touches like provided milk and marmalade. Some concerns were raised about low ceilings and a peculiar smell, but overall, the cottage offers a charming stay.
The property is generally described as clean and ready for guests. However, there are mentions of a 'cat pee' smell in the kitchen area, which suggests a potential issue that affects the cleanliness score.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its convenience to the town, shops, eating establishments, and direct access to scenic walks, making it an ideal spot for visitors looking to explore the area.
Guests find the cottage cosy and the bedroom comfortable, with lush carpeting and a king-sized bed. However, some guests mentioned low ceilings and uncomfortable furniture, which slightly lowers the comfort score.
The property is well-equipped with new appliances and furnishings. Nonetheless, concerns about trip hazards, a claustrophobic toilet, and heating issues indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
While guests appreciated the milk, marmalade, and cream eggs provided, there is not enough information to determine if such thoughtful gestures are consistent or guaranteed, thus the score is set to null.

Hawes is a popular market town in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire and is regarded as one of the honeypot tourist attractions of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Standing between Buttertubs and Fleet Moss, the town is an excellent centre for walking and touring Wensleydale and the adjoining dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale and Chapel-le-Dale. Take a walk around the Hawes Town Trail, Millennium Walk, Pennine Way or along the River Ure, which is nearby. In 1998 Hawes was awarded the English Tourist Board Silver Award for the "Best Day Trip Out". Modern traffic has long replaced coaches and horse drawn wagons along its narrow streets, but market day (Tuesdays) in Hawes is as busy as ever, with a farmers’ auction attracting sheep farmers from all over the north of England. Traditional shops, cafés and inns now cater for a variety of Dales visitors as well as the local community. The award-winning Wensleydale Creamery, made famous by the animated Wallace and Grommit films, is now open to visitors so that they can see the famous cheese being made and sample the end product in a welcoming café. In the old station yard you will find the busy National Park Centre and Dales Countryside Museum. The Museum is home to the magnificent collection of Dales artefacts by the two great Dales historians and writers, Marie Hartley and Joan Ingilby.

We liked everything about it and may even be back there next year. All the things we needed in the cottage were there along with some nice extras as well. A couple of thoughts - some more information might have been useful - we didnât find the key to open the windows or the charging cable for the bathroom mirror light until Thursday? We couldnât sort the heating; possibly it canât be altered, adjusted?? it was frosty one morning yet still didnât appear to be on - presumably itâs on a timer, &/or temperature control but knowing that would have made it all clear. It was all clean and ready for us arriving - the only thing we noticed was a âcat peeâ sort of smell from the kitchen area and although we tried, air fresheners, door open when possible we couldnât get rid of it. Overall great, thanks

All the carpet off cuts on floors are a trip hazard as is the carpet runner on the flagged floor in kitchen. Sofa too low down and uncomfortable. Claustrophobic toilet a very small enclosed space. Restricted height ceiling in parts upstairs. Outside space postage stamp size with too many steps leading up to it. Two key uncomfortable patio chairs very low down impossible to use. The double doors leading to patio only one opens leaving on small space to get through. The double bed is too low down and steps up to the bedroom. Totally disabled and elderly unfriendly property. Needs a warning for future guests.

The cottage was comfortable and very warm once we read the heating booklet and adjusted the bedroom radiator. Such a lovely large bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed. We had to remember to watch our heads in the toilet and the window end of the bathroom as the ceiling was quite low. We got to sit out on our last day and enjoy the splendid views from the small patio area. Loved watching the lambs! The kitchen was well equipped with all new appliances. The sofa was comfortable and the t.v was new. Thank you for the milk, marmalade and cream eggs!
