One of the top tourist destinations in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the well-liked market town of Hawes, which is located in North Yorkshire's Richmondshire region. The town, which is situated between Buttertubs and Fleet Moss, is a great starting point for exploring Wensleydale as well as the neighbouring dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale, and Chapel-le-Dale. Enjoy a stroll around the adjacent Hawes Town Path, Millennium Walk, Pennine Way, or River Ure. The English Tourism Board Silver Award for the "Best Day Excursion Out" was given to Hawes in 1998. Coaches and horse-drawn waggons have long since been replaced by modern transportation, but market day (Tuesday) in Hawes remains bustling as ever thanks to a farmers' auction that draws sheep farmers from all across the north of England. Local stores, cafés, and inns now serve both the local populace and a range of Dales tourists. Visitors may now visit the renowned Wensleydale Creamery, which gained fame from the animated Wallace and Grommit movies, to watch how the famous cheese is created and experience the finished product in a warm café. The bustling National Park Center and Dales Countryside Museum are located in the former railway yard. The two renowned Dales historians and authors, Marie Hartley and Joan Ingilby, have amassed a remarkable collection of Dales artefacts, which are kept at the museum.

We had a lovely family stay in this cosy home and loved so many of its features the AGA, woodburner, stone floors and sumptuous freestanding baths but a little perplexed at the exposed toilet and shower set up in one of the bedrooms! We woke up to a picturesque snow-filled village on our leaving day and thanks to the local farmers clearing the road next to the Manor House, we navigated the roads to Northallerton with relative ease. We did some lovely walks to cosy pubs - along the old railway line to Askrigg, a beautiful walk to Hardraw then onto Hawes and another from Aysgarth to West Witton - always catching The Little White Bus back to Bainbridge (with the bus stop right outside the house). It was great to leave our cars behind for the weekend. Just one slight niggle - only a starter pack of logs was provided and the local log man could not deliver until after we had left! I feel that logs should be included in the rental of house of this quality or at least advised at the time of booking as it proved tricky hauling logs around on our bus journeys back from the pub! Other than this we totally recommend Manor House and have lovely memories of our stay in snowy Bainbridge.

My friends and I (and my Labrador) had a wonderful stay at Manor House. Plenty of parking outside the house for our 4 cars. Bedrooms, though a little quirky, were wonderfully cosy and comfortable. Loved the snug and log burner, but would have been better if the smart TV was in the snug rather than the blue lounge. Kitchen had everything we needed, and we managed fine with the Agar. Would 100% return. We had a brilliant week in Manor House.

We had to buy washing tablets and cleaning equipment. Nothing major to detract from the beautiful place
