The location of this apartment is top notch. West Burton is a lovely, peaceful village off the beaten track, although it does have a nice pub, a butcher, and a little shop and a tea-room. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with walks in all directions to other nice villages and pubs. The apartment is well-maintained and we enjoyed our stay. The only down-side is the dampness in the air. This is a third-floor apartment, so can't have rising damp; I'm guessing it is mostly condensation from a very damp environment, with the cauldron waterfall and river very close by. The owner has installed dehumidifiers, and they work very well, but there is still a little sensation of dampness that you have to get used to. That said, we did like the place, and had a great week.

Very much enjoyed my stay in Water Edge Appt, nice views from the windows towards the waterfall and downriver. The apartment was nice and warm, plenty of hot water and very well-equipped. The front door lock took a little bit of getting used to , perhaps a clue in the details sent out would be helpful. Having stayed in the village many times it was sad to see the shop was not as well stocked as previously. I would certainly stay there again.
