While most experiences are positive, a few guests mention issues with comfort and heating, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The cottage is consistently described as clean, with several guests specifically complimenting its cleanliness. One review mentions a smell of dogs, but this seems to be an isolated comment.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience for walking, with many guests mentioning the spectacular views and walks straight from the door.

Most guests find the cottage comfortable, especially noting the comfortable beds. However, there are comments about some furniture being uncomfortable and issues with heating, which affects the overall comfort score.

Guests often mention the thoughtfulness of the owner, including proactive communication and a welcoming bottle of wine. While such gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that these are at the owner's discretion and may not be a guaranteed feature of every stay.

Reeth, which is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with attractive rolling hills and breathtaking views, has a colourful past since it was first settled by the Saxons and has since been recognised as a lead mining town and a centre for hand knitting. The cottage was so comfortable, clean and warm with a lovely cosy electric log-effect heater in the lounge. This was our second visit to ‘Joyces Cottage’ and we will definitely be booking again for next year. Chris and Paul

There was also a strong smell of dogs in the property, I appreciate visitors with dogs should be welcomed but we found the smell a little over powering. The information book was very comprehensive and useful for lowering the radiator temperature etc one of the best we have seen. The area is beautiful and the local pub served lovely meals.
