Enjoying a superb setting close to the delightful town of Richmond in north Yorkshire, 22 Badger’s Retreat is a stylish wooden lodge, just perfect for a family holiday or couples travelling together. Standing in beautiful, lush surroundings, the lodge has a superb location, and its attractive decking area makes it the ideal spot for some alfresco drinking and dining on the patio table and chairs. Step into the stylish open-plan lodge which has a spacious sitting area complete with a chic corner sofa, where you can imagine curling up together, chilling out and watching TV in front of the contemporary fireplace which takes centre stage on the feature wall decorated in funky eye-catching wallpaper.

When it’s time to eat, the designated chef can make their way to the fully fitted kitchen where there is everything needed to rustle up delicious food for the whole family. A dining table and chairs waits for guests to pull up a seat and look forward to long, leisurely meals together. After a hard day of exploring, there are two good-sized bedrooms to choose from including a light and airy master bedroom complete with handy storage space and en-suite facilities together with a cool twin bedroom. A family bathroom with bath and shower over completes the accommodation. Getting out and about exploring couldn’t be easier from 22 Badger’s Retreat with the bustling town of Richmond a short drive where guests will find an impressive Norman castle, Georgian architecture, a vibrant marketplace with museums, shops, galleries, pubs and eateries galore.

For some scenic walks rewarded with fantastic views, try the Castle Walk or walk along the river Swale and see waterfalls and loads of greenery. If that’s given you a taste for the great outdoors then the stunning North Yorkshire National Park is on the doorstep offers a whole host of beautiful walks and hikes with other attractions close by including Barnard Castle, the fantastic market town of Leyburn and Middleham, home to King Richard III’s castle and rich in horse racing heritage. Great days out include visits to Harrogate or York. For a home-from-home in beautiful surroundings, 22 Badger’s Retreat ticks all the boxes.

Ideally located between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park, is the charming village of Catterick. The village is home to the welcoming Bay Horse Pub where you can sample a tasty meal and local ales, and the historic Catterick Racecourse, which has been hosting races as early as the mid-17th century. Nearby is the scenic Bolton-on Swale Nature Reserve, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll whilst soaking up the fantastic scenery as well as the local wildlife.

    ! Sink water tap left on so sink full and water over work tops. Had to clean it up. No welcome pack although other people had one!!

    There was a bottle of wine, biscuits and milk left for us which is a lovely touch. A lovely site, quiet and spotless. Would defo return here and to this lodge. Thank you

    Couch nice and comfy but not enough room for 4 adults. Beds also very comfortable. We would recommend to friends and return again.
