The double bedroom leads off the living room, whilst two small steps lead up to the sleek bathroom and the second family bedroom. Comfortably furnished to a high standard, the cottage has a lovely, homely feel and will be a pleasure to come back to after a day of exploring. Outside, there is a private sunny garden to the rear of the property, where one can sit and relax with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. A short stroll along the side of the beck brings you into the centre of this most picturesque village, with an array of interesting shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. There are numerous walks straight from the door, while nearby bustling Pickering hosts the terminus of the famous North York Moors Steam Railway, which winds its way through heather clad moors to Grosmont and Whitby. Local attractions include Dalby Forest, with its biking and walking tracks, Duncombe Park, Castle Howard and the pretty market town of Helmsley. With the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough just a short drive and the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors National Park to discover, Puddleduck Cottage provides an excellent base any time of the year.

Just two miles east of Pickering, in the Dalby Forest and North York Moors National Park, is the picturesque village of Thornton-le-Dale. This exquisite spot at the top of a lovely valley is a haven for walkers, bikers, and nature enthusiasts. Despite being 13 and 20 miles apart, Scarborough and Whitby provide all the services and amenities of two of the best coastal resorts in the nation. Around a one-hour drive from each other, York and Castle Howard provide all the history and culture a vacation might want.
