About this property

This tranquil, studio-style lodge rests on the fringes of the seaside town of Scarborough. Affording views over the luscious, open countryside and offering a superb location for exploring the Moors, Heritage Coast and seaside amenities of Scarborough, Foxes Den is a great choice for a family. Internally, this wooded-clad lodge features an open-plan layout with a rustic feel; after a day of exploring, curl up on the sofa beside the woodburning stove, catching up on your favourite shows from the Smart TV. When you’re not sampling the fine cuisines of Scarborough, utilise the well-appointed kitchen for your home-cooking, benefitting from a dishwasher so you won’t have to lift a finger when cleaning up! The enclosed garden is a real highlight, offering a set of table and chairs that is ideal for alfresco dining, whilst the covered hot tub is a welcome addition, perfect for soothing your muscles after a long walk. Scarborough has much to offer, with North Bay and South Bay providing two stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches certainly worth a visit. Other attractions in the town include Scarborough Castle, SEA LIFE Scarborough and the Museum of Coastal Heritage and Geology, whilst there are plenty of fine restaurants to treat the group to. Head to the popular town of Pickering, home to Pickering Castle, an imposing 13th century fortress, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway where you can hop on board and enjoy a scenic route through the National Park. Foxes Den provides an idyllic break, whatever time of year.

In North Yorkshire's Seamer, a lovely community close to the seaside, a mix of new and old structures adds flavour to the neighbourhood, and the main street is lined with historic stone homes. Three quaint bars serving delectable food, a grocery store, a general store with a post office, and a church are all nearby. Spend a day enjoying all the seaside attractions in Scarborough, which is conveniently located near the highway and has parks, gardens, and a historic castle that looks over the town. For an afternoon stroll and sandcastle building on the beach, head to the North Bay or South Bay. Later, get a bite to eat at one of the taverns or restaurants. For live music, there is also the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa, and Scarborough Open Air Theatre. The Cleveland Way offers scenic coastal hikes, and you can also get to Whitby by bicycle along an ancient railway line and up its famed 199 stairs to the abbey ruins. With Yorkshire as your home base, you are in an excellent location to explore the Heritage Coast and the Moors.

We enjoyed our daily visits from all the animals, who were all so friendly. The lodge has everything you’d need for a pleasant stay. We’ll definitely book here again.

It's just what we needed to get away. It was peaceful and quiet and our 1yr old loved all the animals. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The tea and coffee was a lovely touch and the hot tub was so relaxing. Would definitely recommend and consider again for our next getaway.
