Harbourside House offers a fantastic central location close to Scarborough’s seafront and attractions, with spacious bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciated the pet-friendly policy, thoughtful welcome touches, and responsive hosts. While the property’s proximity to restaurants and bars brings some noise and parking challenges, most found the house comfortable and well-suited for families or groups. Some noted the living room is compact for six, and there are steep stairs typical of older cottages. Overall, guests enjoyed their stays and many expressed a desire to return.

We really loved the house and the decor theme. The postcard and treats/pint of milk were a lovely touch. Its an old property so has steep steps. The ropes are lovely and on theme but weren't the easiest to hold to get up/down the stairs. The little sensor lights were a fabulous touch on the staircases. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The location was fantastic for getting to the front, open the front door, straight down the snicket and you are there. However, this means that you are behind bars, restaurants and shops. Deliveries and staff are coming and going at various times of the day/night. Lots of bins been emptied at various times of the day/night. No parking permits are provided, as stated on the booking page. As of April 2026 when this is typed, the parking price is £11.60 from 9am-6pm daily, in the pay and display. It is nearly imposible to find parking anywhere else in the day time as, a lot of building work is happing on Quay Street.

The cottage was ok however the sitting room was way too small for 6 people for instance the amount of seating that was provided. The front door is warped at the top so this let a constant draft through and made the living room very cold.Bedrooms and bathroom were very comfortable but, the plastic mattress protector made the beds feel like hospital beds.Just a warning as the stairs are very steep and would be a disadvantage to anybody with mobility issues.There was a lack of cleaning items such as a small vacuum cleaner or even a brush would have been advantageous.Overall we had a great time regardless of the niggles above.
