About this property

East Ayton 2 miles. Northcot is a charming, stone-built cottage settled into the rural hamlet of Hutton Buscel, near East Ayton, in the North York Moors National Park. With close by walks and stunning features throughout, this property is ideal for friends or families looking to escape to North Yorkshire. Enter into a beautiful hallway with exposed brick walls and glass ceiling, first finding a pretty shower room with contemporary amenities adding an opulent feel. From here, come to the well-presented kitchen/diner, filled with original features to create a characterful space, as well as ample amenities to cater to your culinary needs, and a space to dine together. The sitting room is an ideal spot for relaxing after exploring the local area, and has the benefit of a woodburning stove, and there is also the option of a snug. When sleep calls, ascend to the first floor to find a stylish bathroom with roll top bath, and three beautifully presented bedrooms, including two doubles and a twin. Outside, the patio is a delightful sun trap for evenings spent relaxing with a tipple in hand. East Ayton is a location where you will find a selection of pubs, eateries, and a convenience store, with options including the Denison Arms and Betton Farm, and there is also the option of exploring the remains of West Ayton Castle. The property is settled on the edges of the North York Moors National Park, so there is a variety of walks, mountain biking trails, and birdwatching opportunities available, for example those at Forge Valley Woods National Nature Reserve, and the North Riding Forest Park. For more amenities and attractions, head over to the bustling seaside town of Scarborough, where there is an incredible castle, museum, art gallery, many eateries, and a beach, as well as access to extensive coastal walks. All of this and so much more with a stay at Northcot.

Resting on the edge of the breath-taking North York Moors National Park, is the small village of West Ayton. Visitors of the village will be charmed by the 14th-century castle, situated to the east of the village, along with a community centre, a surgery, a pub and a number of local businesses. Its twin village, East Ayton perches on the opposite side of the River Derwent, where you will find a larger selection of amenities. Situated on the edge of the National Park, this little village plays host to miles of walks to be enjoyed. Noteworthy routes include The Bridestones and the Hole of Horcum, Forge Valley and the Derwent Sea Cut. Alternatively, a 15-minute drive will find you within the resort town of Scarborough, complete with a brimming town centre, a beach and harbour. Attractions include the Japanese-style garden, Peasholm Park, the medieval Scarborough castle and the wonderful SEA life Sanctuary. West Ayton promises an idyllic base for touring the countryside and coast.
