Following a busy day, head upstairs to rest in one of the delightful bedrooms; on the first floor lies a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room and another king-size bed which is zip/link giving full flexibility, whilst on the attic level rests another king-size double with zip/link giving the flexibility of twin beds as well, Velux windows and picturesque views of the surrounding area. Step outside and enjoy the south-facing courtyard, offering a quiet spot for alfresco dining or simply an evening drink. Head into the centre of Whitby and explore the quaint streets, lined with plenty of well-established restaurants and pubs to dine and drink in, along with many shops and cafés. Venture up the famous 199 Steps to the spooky ruins of Whitby Abbey which stands dramatically on the headland, providing glorious coastal vistas, with the option to extend your walk along the Cleveland Way which runs down the length of the coast to Scarborough. Pack up your seaside equipment and choose between Whitby's two beaches; West Cliff Beach is long and sandy, and during the summer offers donkey rides for children, whilst Tate Hill Beach is small and secluded with lovely soft sand. Avid golfers will be drawn to the stunning Whitby Golf Course, affording a stunning cliff top golfing experience with unbeatable views over the sea, before enjoying lunch at the White Horse Inn gastro pub with panoramic views overlooking the golf course. Alternatively, head north to the scenic North York Moors National Park, a real haven for outdoor enthusiasts, where you can stroll along the Esk Valley, searching for waterfalls and hiking the various hills and peaks found here.
