We love the bright spacious living area with floor to ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings. Lots of home made design touches throughout. Perfect for two looking for a hidden gem.. All on the
ground floor.

We were all set to leave for Whitby, apartment booked and really looking forward to the holiday. We received notification from cottages.com that the accommodation was not available due to adverse weather conditions in and around Whitby. Well we were gutted, but the young man who called promised us he would find us somewhere else. After back and forward with calls and emails we agreed to one just outside of York. What a little gem it was. On arrival we saw bunny rabbits hopping on the grass, squirrels and birds of all kinds including my favourite the Robin. We had a perfect week, not the one we were expecting but perfect for us to enjoy. Just one little thing, cottages.com charged us the booking fee twice. Once for Whitby and then for Barnside Cottage. We were disappointed with this as it was out of our control. But we did enjoy our holiday and would go there again.

A very comfortable cottage within easy driving distance (about 12 miles) of Grimston Bar Park & Ride which we used for visiting York. Also visited Harrogate which was just over 40 miles away. Accommodation was very clean, warm and private. A few extra things would have made it slightly better e.g. more crockery, tumblers, a teapot etc., plus some information on the local area would have been helpful, but none of this detracted from our enjoyment of the holiday. We visited Pocklington two miles away for food shopping and eating out. Would certainly recommend the accommodation to family and friends.
