Pocklington, a charming market town, is located in the Vale of York, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. Perhaps its most famous feature is the Burnby Hall Gardens, an 8-acre oasis of beauty that includes two large lakes and the National Collection of water lilies. Stunning Sledmere House, the ancient city of York, and the mighty Castle Howard are just a few of the nearby world-famous attractions. The town has a Civic Centre, a leisure centre where you can participate in a variety of sports like swimming, and the Pocklington Arts Centre where you can watch movies and see performances all year round. Beautifully maintained to a very high standard, comfortable bed, excellent kitchen facilities, ideal location with plenty of places to explore. Thank you for the great welcome pack. The only issue was with the gorgeous leather sofa - it was too low to sit in because getting up out of it was too difficult. The dining chair was fine to sit on for a week , we would definitely stay there again.

Everything you could hope for was provided and generally well equipped. Dog friendly with some lovely touches like a blanket, towel and treats supplied. The location is excellent for exploring York and the amenities in nearby Pocklington are ideal. We thoroughly recommend this property.
