One of the highlights of the cottage can be found in the sitting room where the original forge with corbelled vault canopy and oak beam takes pride of place. A lovely wood burning stove sits in the hearth ready to create a cosy atmosphere when cooler winter nights draw in.
The dining area with antique wooden table and chairs features french windows that open on to a delightful cobbled patio and raised garden area. Equipped with a two person bistro set, barbecue area and handy covered store for bicycles, the private outdoor space is a fantastic spot to enjoy morning coffee in the sunshine or sit with a good book on lazy afternoons in the sunshine.

A very comfortable and sensitively converted Forge building finished to a high standard retaining many original features and with quality fixtures, fittings and equipment. Our kind and thoughtful hosts were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we really appreciated the "welcome basket" and all they did for us to make our stay comfortable and happy. The quiet village location is perfect for exploring York and the surrounding countryside.
