One of the highlights of the cottage can be found in the sitting room where the original forge with corbelled vault canopy and oak beam takes pride of place. A lovely wood burning stove sits in the hearth ready to create a cosy atmosphere when cooler winter nights draw in.
The dining area with antique wooden table and chairs features french windows that open on to a delightful cobbled patio and raised garden area. Equipped with a two person bistro set, barbecue area and handy covered store for bicycles, the private outdoor space is a fantastic spot to enjoy morning coffee in the sunshine or sit with a good book on lazy afternoons in the sunshine.

Lovely little cottage developed out of an old forge in a beautiful, quiet village. Peter and Kay were wonderful hosts, making us feel very welcome. The location is a great base, a short enough drive to York with loads of historic houses and picturesque spots nearby.
