A bright, welcoming Haxby cottage, this inviting retreat is ideal for those eager to be close to the historic city of York. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom property is 4 miles from the colourful city centre, with its wealth of shops, eateries and places of interest. Meander through the quaint lanes of the Shambles, indulging in a little retail therapy. Visit the famous York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre and York Castle Museum. Take a cruise along the River Ouse or wander the beautifully preserved medieval walls. Plan a day trip to Harrogate, 23 miles away, too. Here you can browse in the elegant boutiques and pamper yourselves in the Turkish baths. For those who love the great outdoors, the picturesque Howardian Hills are 11.5 miles away and the magnificent North York Moors National Park is a little further. Here you will find a myriad of fabulous footpaths and beauty spots.
Arrive back from your exciting excursions and open the front door to the cottage to find yourselves in its sunny lounge/diner. Light a fire in the wood burner in here on chilly days, then spread out on the sofa to catch up on your adventures or watch the Smart TV. The dining table in here is the perfect place for a board game or to write your postcards home. The airy kitchen, with its array of modern fixtures and fittings, adjoins the lounge and provides everything you need to help you produce tasty meals for your nearest and dearest with the Yorkshire produce you have bought. As the sun sets over Haxby and you feel ready to turn in for the night, make your way up to the first floor, where you will find two lovely king-size bedrooms and a cosy twin, with a sloped ceiling. You also have a family bathroom and a family shower room at this level.
The generous lawned garden will really come into its own during summer stays. Play games with the children on the grass, then pour yourself a cold drink and simply unwind on the patio. Dine outside as often as the weather permits. There is off-street parking for two cars at the cottage, with additional on-street parking, subject to availability.
